Kris is a fellow in the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers (AAML) and a board certified specialist in family law.  Kris has been described as a 'born strategist,' and brings this systematic approach to every case. Kris frequently serves as a co-counsel on military divorce and military pension division cases, and represents clients facing child custody, alimony, equitable distribution, division of trusts or businesses in divorce, domestic violence, child support, termination of parental rights, and all related family law matters.. Kris won the 2023 Leaders in the Law Award from NC Lawyers Weekly,honoring lawyers who set the standard for other lawyers, make outstanding contributions to the practice of law, show leadership in improving the justice system, act as role models and mentors, and make essential contributions to the legal community.  He was recognized as a family law Legal Elite by Business North Carolina Magazine. Kris has received an AV rating by Martindale Hubbell - a distinction awarded to lawyers who have achieved the highest level of professional excellence as rated by lawyers and judges.  In addition, Kris writes articles, and teaches continuing education classes to lawyers on family law topics and military divorce topics.
