Homa Sayyar has been licensed to practice law in the State of Nevada since October 2007.  She graduated from the William S. Boyd School of Law at the University of Nevada Las Vegas in May 2007 with her Juris Doctorate.  Prior to law school she earned her BSBA in International Business at UNLV and has lived in Nevada since mid-2000 after relocating from Wasilla, Alaska.. Originally from the United Kingdom, Homa is a proud U.S. Citizen.  Her first name is a variant spelling of the Persian name for a mythical bird of paradise not unlike a phoenix.  She enjoys outdoors activities like running and bicycling (though not very fast in either pursuit).  She has two children, three dogs, and three cats in Carson City.  She currently works as the Deputy Director of the Nevada Department of Indigent Defense Services.  Previously she has served as General Counsel for the Nevada State Purchasing Division, a Senior Deputy Attorney General at the Nevada Office of the Attorney General, Chief Advocacy Attorney at Nevada's Aging and Disability Services Division, and an Owner of her own civil legal practice.
