Mr. Alley graduated with honors from the University of Alabama, with a Bachelor's Degree in Political Science. He went on to attend and graduated from the University Of Alabama School Of Law. While still in law school, Mr. Alley clerked at the Tuscaloosa County District Attorney's Office, where he successfully tried several felony jury trials as a law student.. As a Deputy District Attorney, he tried dozens of cases before juries in Circuit Court and frequently represented the District Attorney's Office before the District Court. Shortly after joining the Tuscaloosa County District Attorney's Office, Mr. Alley was chosen to become a special federal prosecutor in order to combat gun violence. Mr. Alley went on to work at the Limestone County District Attorney's Office where he was tasked with handling a wide variety of cases. He was personally responsible for handling tens of thousands of misdemeanor cases in District Court as well as hundreds of felony level cases in Circuit Court. Alley has previously served as instructor at Alabama police academies. Joshua W. Branch began working in a law firm at the age of 16. He attended undergraduate school at the University of Georgia and went to law school at Florida Coastal School of Law in Jacksonville, Florida and between those two times he lived in Breckenridge, Colorado for a year.. Joshua W. I was born and raised in and around Gary, Indiana. Upon graduation from high school, I moved to Lafayette, Alabama. All my life I had dreamed of becoming a soldier. October, 1972 in Montgomery, Alabama, I became a soldier. I enjoyed the Army and all the opportunities it provided for training. My twenty year career was spent as eight years enlisted and twelve years as an officer. My duties included paratrooper, air traffic controller, aviation maintenance management, company commander, pilot and test pilot.. While in the Army, I had earned two degrees, a Bachelor of Professional Aeronautics from Embry Riddle Aeronautical University and a Master of Arts in Computer and Information Management from Webster University. After retirement from the Army, I moved back to Alabama but this time the Birmingham area. I worked for Children’s Hospital as a manager of Information Technology for thirteen years. My duties included working on multiple projects, managing computer education and customer support.. After work, I taught computer information classes at local colleges and attended law school. Upon graduation from Birmingham School of Law, I was admitted to Alabama Bar. Once my wife retired, we moved to Athens, Alabama to be close to family and to open my law practice.

I chose to come home to Athens after law school to raise my children in a small town atmosphere.  My practice has grown into a large Real Property practice including being the owner of Trinity Valley Abstract and Title where we handle hundreds of real estate closings every year. With the title company, I have overseen thousands of transactions over the last ten years.. I provide real property document creation, litigation, and litigation support all over the State of Texas. Daniel Shawn Pickens was born and raised in Sheffield, AL, where he graduated from Sheffield High School in 2009. He earned his Associate of Applied Science in General Studies from Calhoun Community College while playing on the golf team. He then went on to The University of West Alabama. While there, he was inducted into the Blue Key Honor Society, earned his Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance in 2019, and was named the University Scholar in Finance.. Mr. Pickens earned his J.D. from Birmingham School of Law in December 2022. While in law school, he was the recipient of the Outstanding 1L award, a member of the Judge Hugh Locke Honor Society, and was named a “BSL Star”. Once meeting the minimum hours needed, he was placed on the Dean’s List, and remained there until finishing in December 2022. He received the highest grade in the following courses: Torts I, Contracts I, Legal Methods, Civil Procedure I, Evidence I, and Domestic Relations.. Before Mr. Pickens decided to go back to school, he spent several years as a Firefighter, with over two of those years spent working for the City of Madison. While there, in addition to obtaining many technical certifications, he became an Advanced EMT.. Prior to joining Thigpen, Thigpen, Engelthaler, and Scott, Mr. Pickens spent over a year and a half as the women’s golf coach at Calhoun Community College. His players won several trophies during his time as coach and his team was named the ACCC Academic Team of the Year after his first year.. In his free time, he enjoys playing golf, hiking, and reading.
