Mr. Nguyen currently serves as the Chairman of the Vietnamese-American Community of Las Vegas Organization. He has successfully hosted 3 events: 2015 Moon Festival, 2015 Lunar New Year, and 2016 Moon Festival since taking office. He has also co-directed an ESL and Citizenship course than ended successfully in early 2016.
Mr. McKinnon is a litigator who specializes in resolving complex commercial disputes, employment law matters, and securities litigation. Mr. McKinnon graduated from the William S. Boyd School of Law in Las Vegas where he focused his legal education on corporate structure and pretrial litigation. He worked as an extern under the Honorable Timothy C. Williams and gained valuable insight in managing a courtroom and performing complex legal analysis.. While in law school, Mr. McKinnon taught a course on the small claims court system in conjunction with the Legal Aid Center of Southern Nevada and was recognized with the “Outstanding Student Teacher” award. He also spent a summer working for the Utah Division of Securities learning the ins and outs of securities compliance and investigations at the state level. Mr. McKinnon also represented UNLV at the Tulane NFL Negotiating Competition where he learned valuable negotiating skills.. Before joining Marquis Aurbach, Mr. McKinnon worked as a practicing attorney at a well-known civil litigation law firm, specializing in complex commercial litigation, employment contract disputes, and landlord tenant law.. Prior to law school, Mr. McKinnon studied at Utah State University, where he received a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Political Science and a minor in Sociology. He was also a sportswriter for the school newspaper, the Utah Statesman.. When not practicing law, Mr. McKinnon spends his time with his wife, Sarah, watching sports, and spending time with family and friends.
Mr. Maupin grew up in Las Vegas and obtained a Bachelor of Arts in History from the University of Nevada Reno. He earned his Juris Doctor from the Boyd School of Law at UNLV.. Before attending law school Mr. Maupin worked for fifteen years in Northern Nevada schools teaching History, Government, Geography, and Theater among other subjects. He was admitted to the Nevada Bar in 2015. Prior to coming to Marquis Aurbach Coffing, Mr. Maupin worked as a law clerk for the Legal Aid Center of Southern Nevada and for the Honorable Judge Lynne Simons in the Second Judicial District.. In his spare time Mr. Maupin enjoys participating in community theater, and is on the board of directors for the Good Luck Macbeth theater company.
