When I was about  12 years old an elderly neighbor asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up.  I told him I was thinking about being a lawyer.  He coldly shook his head and scoffed "there are already too many lawyers."  His kind wife scolded him and told me that it would "be a fine thing to have a 'good lawyer."  After that, whenever I was asked, I told people I wanted to be an architect.. I came back to the law after graduating from college and working for a couple of years. I was drawn to the law because I enjoy troubleshooting and problem solving.  I was drawn to the law because I enjoy helping people and resolving disputes.  I enjoy strategic and advance planning.  I occasionally drive past the home of those old neighbors and hope that I am at least a "good lawyer."

I have been involved in real estate for a majority of my life and developed a passion for all things real estate at a young age. Even as a teenager, I worked for a real estate investor who bought and sold real property all over the western United States. On the homeowner side, have successfully represented homeowners in disputes against HOAs on a variety of matters including claims for and against arbitrary and capricious enforcement, reasonable accommodation under the Fair Housing Act, fights over rental restrictions, disputing imposition of thousands of dollars in fines for alleged violations, and failure to follow the CC&Rs..
