Please see my personal bio and personal story at:. Marilyn York has over 21 years of exclusive family law experience, unlike many other divorce attorneys who advertise 27 years of experience but hardly any of it is in family law; she passed the California Bar, the Nevada Bar, and the Nevada Certified Family Law Specialist exams on her first attempts. She is always sober (therefore clear headed); quick thinking; and good at math to do marital balance sheets and protect your financial assets.. Marilyn is fully dedicated and passionate about Men's Rights and protecting their children; she is fair, honest, powerful and never over works or over charges a case. She is highly respected by the Second Judicial District Court - Family Division and has successfully represented Nevada Judges and Court employees. Many of her other Clients have been Doctors, Lawyers and Policemen. Such clients love Marilyn because she is so tough in Court. You can't beat that.. The best family lawyers in the Reno area work for Marilyn long term because she exclusively handles family law cases, specializes in Men's Rights and because the pay and the benefits are the best in the area. This attracts the best Clients and often saves them from bad experiences elsewhere.. If you are having serious Marital Disputes, you could benefit greatly by scheduling an Initial Consultation with us for FREE if you hire us the same day; otherwise you pay only $350. You will get sound legal advice, know where you stand and better know what to do next with no commitment.. Before you hire a family lawyer, you should insure he or she has the requisite family law experience because many of the local lawyers advertise lots of years of experience ostensiibly as family lawyers and yet we never see them in Family Court. Be wary and don't hire anybody just based on advertising. Get personal referrals from the legal community (family Court) or from others who have experienced divorce.. We know family Attorneys - with serious addictions that diminish their abilities and effectiveness who love to drag out cases by being unresponsive or ridiculously vicious in their responses that add fuel to the fire to extend cases and always push for Court that seem to charge huge sums for not very much work that appear in Court unprepared and are not respected by the Court

In 2019, I left my previous law firm to found my own law firm, The Law Forge. With the new law firm, my goal is to leverage new technologies to make Intellectual Property and Buiness transactional law more accessible.

Over the last few years I have helped obtain many favorable results for my clients, including millions of dollars of judgments, dismissal of claims through dispositive motions, favorable settlements, and other victories. I enjoy helping clients figure out how to achieve their goals using the law and appreciate that at Lionel Sawyer & Collins we have the benefit of being able to work across departments to use our multiple skill sets for the client's benefit. Each case presents a puzzle, some more simple, some more complex, and the challenge of those puzzles is something that excites me. Oftentimes litigation is just one tool needed to resolve a client's challenges, but my clients have the benefit of my litigation experience as well as access to the regulatory and business lawyers who form part of our Lionel Sawyer & Collins team.In 2010, Mountain States Super Lawyers selected me as a "Rising Star" in the fields of general litigation and bankruptcy & creditor/debtor rights. My name is Ken Stover, and I have spent the last 19 years working on criminal cases. I was a prosecuting attorney for four years, and I have been defending the rights of people who were accused of crimes for 15 years. I understand what you are up against, and I will protect your rights and your future.. "Defense attorneys are the gatekeepers of justice." — Ken Stover. It's true. The prosecution's job is to get a conviction. My job is to see that justice is served on your behalf. During my time as a prosecutor, I watched as many people who had been arrested, were treated unfairly by the courts. I became a defense attorney to prevent that from happening.
My goal is to provide compassionate advice to my clients who are going through a difficult time. I am licensed in Nevada and Washington state (inactive). I began my career by completing a rigorous clerkship where I worked on a multitude of cases in various areas of law. Currently, I'm continuing my work in public interest law with a local legal non-profit organization. I believe it is important to remain active in the profession and contribute to the community. To that end, I am involved in numerous bar associations and have volunteered for several non-profits Seattle and Reno. In my spare time, I enjoy cheering on the Gonzaga Bulldogs and the Nevada Wolf Pack.
My experience includes a wide range of complex matters. I have agressively represented clients at trial (jury and non-jury), private mediations, and arbitrations. The areas of law I have practiced include: intellectual property, civil RICO, business disputes, shareholder derivative actions, commercial, construction, insurance, Lanham Act, unfair competition, trademarks, copyrights, rights to publicity, bankruptcy (creditor), employment discrimination, breach of fiduciary duty, and trade secrets.I have assisted clients with issues including business transactions; trademarks; copyrights; contract drafting and review; intellectual property licensing; e-business agreements; and the legal aspects of purchasing and selling businesses, real estate, and personal property.Outside of the office I enjoy the outdoors, hunting, fly fishing, camping, hiking, climbing, mountian biking, and making wine.
