I was born and raised in Terrebonne Parish.  I attended LSU  for undergraduate studies and received a degree in psychology.  I then attended Loyola School of Law in New Orleans and graduatedd in 1990.  I practiced in New Orleans for approximately 10 years an then moved back to Houma, where I currrently practice.

Mr. Stanford is a Board Certified Family Law Specialist and he has been practicing law since 1993. The majority of his practice is in the area of divorce and family law and he is experienced in all matters pertaining thereto, at both the trial and appellate court level. In addition, Mr. Stanford also maintains a general litigation practice as well. Attorney Michael Brandt has practiced in civil litigation for his entire career. He focuses primarily on family law, including divorce, paternity, child support, maintenance, interstate custody actions, business and property division, contempt/enforcement proceedings, and restraining orders/injunction and takes appointment as Guardian ad litem by the Courts to advocate on behalf of the best interests of children directly.. He also practices in the areas of Juvenile Law (CHIPS), Estate Planning, Guardianships and Probate. He has significant experience with complicated international and interstate custody and placement disputes, and the intricacies of formal discovery.. He is a certified Collaborative Divorce attorney, has acted as a Parent Coordinator in contested family cases, as is available to serve as a family law mediator.

Vanessa is a law school graduate from California Western School of Law, San Diego, CA and received her BA at the University of California, Riverside. Vanessa is licensed to practice in the State of New Mexico and in the United States Federal District Court, District of New Mexico.. Vanessa has devoted a substantial portion of her legal career to advocating social justice, pro bono legal services, and offering affordable access to law, particularly to underprivileged and underrepresented communities.. Vanessa fervently represents her clients in legal matters involving divorce and child custody proceedings, real property law, foreclosure defense and other areas of law. Her professional affiliations include the New Mexico Hispanic Bar Association, the Voluntary Attorney Pool, “VAP”, and the Trust & Estates Division. Vanessa lives in Albuquerque, NM with her sons Truth and Justus.

Amy Frick, Legal Assistant, is a native of Stanly County, having been raised here and still residing here with her husband and step-children.  She has worked in the legal field in excess of 13 years.
