Good evening, is it normal to not have any communication with your lawyer until the day of your court date? My lawyer does not communicate with me until the day of court. For reference: I was charged with felony theft of $40 (enhanced because of it being a school or place of worship) & burglary. I have not been in trouble before and have no clue what is normal and what is not. She did not come to my first appearance and I had to YouTube what to do at a first appearance. From then on, she has failed to email me paperwork when she says she will and does not communicate at all. Location: Illinois
