Got fired for seizures at work

Location: Iowa My friend got fired because he kept having seizures at work. All of these seizures would happen the day after he drank heavily but he continued to drink heavily even though they triggered seizures. He worked in a factory so it was dangerous for him to work there. Is this legal since there was a risk of serious injury?
