I received a Bachelor of Arts (summa cum laude) from the University of Miami. I obtained my law degree (Juris Doctor) from the University of Florida. In addition, I have a Masters of Law in Taxation from the University of Florida.. After graduation I worked for Robert Feinschreiber and Associates before joining the Chief Counsel’s Office of the Internal Revenue Service in Miami. Along with my duties at Chief Counsel's Office, I became a Special Assistant United States Attorney with the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Miami handling all aspects of Bankruptcy Court litigation on behalf of the United States Internal Revenue Service. Since leaving the government I have had my own practice largely focusing in the areas of tax matters before the IRS and bankruptcy. I also handle probate cases, estate planning and the preparation of wills and powers of attorney.. In January 2005 I became an adjunct professor of law at St. Thomas University School of Law. I teach Debtor-Creditor Rights, Bankruptcy, Law Office Management and head the Bankruptcy Clinic. I have also taught Legal Accounting and have been a   faculty member since 2012 teaching bankruptcy.. From 2007 to 2010 I served as a commissioner on the Miami-Dade County Commission on Ethics and Public Trust.. I am a member of the Florida Bar (Elder Lawyer Committee 2017-2018), the American Bar Association, the South Florida Bankruptcy Bar Association (CARE Commitee member and Judicial Liason Committee), the Coral Gables Bar Assocation, the South Miami Kendall Bar Association, and Florida Lawyers Network (Membership Director). I am admitted to practice before the United States Tax Court, and the United States District Court for the Southern District and the Middle District of Florida.
