A notable victory came in September of 2021, when Chris and a fellow attorney secured a $7.7 million verdict for the family of a 33-year-old woman who died because her treating physician failed to recognize, prevent, and treat a thiamine deficiency that developed following bariatric surgery. The verdict stands as one of the largest ever awarded in Winnebago County history. Most recently, Chris and Meyers & Flowers’ founding partner Ted Meyers, secured a $600,000 total recovery for a client in a highly contested retaliatory discharge case. The recovery, which included attorney’s fees and the rare award of punitive damages, is believed to be one of the highest retaliatory discharge jury verdicts awarded in Kane County history.. In addition to being a successful trial lawyer, Chris has a proven track record challenging adverse outcomes and safeguarding circuit court victories in the 2nd and 3rd District Appellate Courts and the Illinois Supreme Court. In 2022, Chris had the distinct privilege to argue a case before the Illinois Supreme Court where he successfully advocated for judicial recognition of critical safeguards for disabled wards concerning their right to marry (In re Estate of McDonald, 2022 IL 126956). The breadth of Chris’ experience as a legal writer, trial lawyer and appellate advocate has earned him recognition from his peers in the legal community, including recognition as a Super Lawyers “Rising Star”. I am pleased that you stopped by to read my message.  I have been a lawyer practicing in the area of family law (divorce) for about 23 years.  I have represented both men and women in fairly straight forward matters, as well as highly contested cases.  Having practiced in the suburban areas of Chicago has taught me that the majority of clients value:. * Efficienty;. * Experience; and. * Expertise. Money is at a premium, and clients seek rapid resolution of their contested matters.
