Navin graduated cum laude from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor with a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering, with a minor in Economics.. While at Michigan, Navin was actively involved in the American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE), the International Society of Automation (ISA) and various other technical and professional organizations. Navin entered industry as a chemical engineering co-operative education student with Du Pont, a leading specialties chemicals manufacturer active across many industries, from food to energy.. After gaining experience in engineering and waste-water treatment, Navin accepted a research grant from the German government to pursue fluid mechanics research at the Technical University of Dresden. His work involved modeling particulate sedimentation behavior resulting from municipal water delivery pipe deterioration.. Upon finishing his undergraduate degree in 2007, Navin accepted a position with ArcelorMittal, one of the world's largest metal and mining companies, where his projects concerned the implementation of automated level-sensing equipment across the plant. He was also actively involved in valuable metal-alloy addition recuperation project and has worked closely with both chemists and metallurgists.. To pursue his interest in technology, Navin later decided to enter into the patent law field and attended the Chicago-Kent College of Law, Illinois Institute of Technology and received his Juris Doctorate in 2012. While at Chicago-Kent, Navin worked as a law clerk at various intellectual property boutiques in Chicago where he gained experience in patent preparation, prosecution and litigation across a variety of technological areas including the mechanical, electrical, chemical and software-based arts.
