Navin graduated cum laude from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor with a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering, with a minor in Economics.. Navin entered industry as a chemical engineering co-operative education student with Du Pont, a leading specialties chemicals manufacturer active across many industries, from food to energy.. After gaining experience in engineering and waste-water treatment, Navin accepted a research grant from the German government to pursue fluid mechanics research at the Technical University of Dresden. His work involved modeling particulate sedimentation behavior resulting from municipal water delivery pipe deterioration.. Upon finishing his undergraduate degree in 2007, Navin accepted a position with ArcelorMittal, one of the world's largest metal and mining companies, where his projects concerned the implementation of automated level-sensing equipment across the plant.
