The situation I have been on ADA work accommodations for about 2.5 years. (Don't qualify for FMLA) I have had the same disability, nothing has changed but they make me recertify randomly, It has been denied for "paperwork errors" "doesn't meet business need" ect.... then I wait and reapply again and it goes through. This time the process went off the rails and work suddenly feels intense. Back story: I asked for an accommodation about my hours/schedule. Business level solution was implemented. Basically, instead of a set schedule they put you on split shifts when the business needs it and hours are reduced to 25 week. It seemed like a good idea but my condition requires medication times to stay the same....It didn't work, went back to my regular hours. Asked for intermittent leave, doctor filled it out. In the middle of May I told my ADA rep I needed an additional 4 hours for June for medical issue related to disability. No reply until middle of June, ADA deemed ineffective. Not able to reliably attend work. I knew I was struggling, I told them months prior but we went in paperwork circles. I voluntarily bid into a reduced‑hours schedule to improve reliability. Schedule approved and started. Since then: Only ~4 hours missed in ~2 months — major improvement. ADA Paperwork Submitted Employer sends ADA paperwork to my provider. Provider returns completed forms. Forms include: Reduced‑hours schedule Predictable episodic flare blocks Confirmation that essential job functions are impaired without accommodation…

Location: Western Kansas, US I rent a studio apartment in Western Kansas which is currently in a heat wave. We have had two seperate heat advisories over the last two weeks with temperatures over the hundreds pretty much every day. My AC has been out since July 26th (it is a central system so this means the entire building has no AC, not just my apartment). A little over a week in, they installed portable units in the apartments, but they do pretty much nothing to lower the apartment temperature (we have no openable windows so they're hooked into the maintenance space and can't really vent any heat). I get updates pretty much every day about what they might be currently doing to try to fix the AC (they're missing a part, they can't get a technician, the part didn't actually fix the chiller etc), but none of it has actually done the job. I don't know what to do. I've been alternately sleeping on coworkers couches and sleeping on the floor directly in front of the portable unit as its upwards of 90 degrees in the rest of my apartment constantly. Is there anything at all I can do here? Do I have any options, or is my landlord protected because they are hypothetically trying to fix it?

Location: Douglas county, Kansas Hello, I’m looking for some advice on handling a legal situation. My biological parent passed away. An Heir search company located me and wrote an affidavit recognizing me as an heir. My parent’s other child was working with an attorney, once the heir search found me, he changed attorneys. The affidavit was sent to the new attorney, a few days later the new attorney filed to petition of administration. I was listed as a “person of interest” and it said that I did not submit any substantial evidence to prove myself as an heir. They did not submit the affidavit. Someone had told me that all I needed was to have an attorney submit the affidavit to the court and show to the hearing, I was told a few hours max. As I’m trying to find an attorney, one attorney told me they don’t care about the affidavit and they want to start from scratch and expect it to take about 20 hours I’m trying to understand if I’m going to truly have an attorney just submit the affidavit or if I need to have someone redo the work, along with any other advice.
