Considering Medical Malpractice Lawsuit | Oct 30, 2026 | Sourced from the original Reddit post
Location: Massachusetts. Psych NP doubled my antidepressant dose without a mood stabilizer when I was already diagnosed and documented with bipolar + showing manic symptoms. Spent some time in-patient 3 days after the dose increase. For those that don't know, SSRI antidepressants can cause mania in those with bipolar. This occurred in Massachusetts, but I moved back to NY. Life pretty much fell apart after. My career is heavily impacted. Not sure if pursuing legal action is worth it, what to expect on how long it will take, or what a reasonable outcome would be. Don't even know where to start. Been very depressed lately and could use any guidance/advice.
[MA] Last Months Rent - Early Termination and “broker commission” Tenant | Oct 26, 2026 | Sourced from the original Reddit post
Location: Massachusetts Hello, recently had a nightmare where I moved in somewhere and had to leave within a few days due to their being hazardous toxic lead dust contamination all over the apartment. They renovated a prehistoric house without doing any prior testing so we hired a licensed state inspector, who told us not to use windows or fans in the house, and to avoid using the doors (bedroom door and main hallway) because of the elevated results. Fast forward we were sent a mutual termination agreement, we emptied the apartment and returned they keys. We are due out last months rent that we paid. We feel we are due a full refund since we paid for the inspection and had to throw out multiple items. Anyway, we haven’t gotten a countersigned agreement or check for last month rent yet (it’s been two weeks). When looking at old lease and receipts; the realtor sent me a payment on their portal for "last month rent" and to hold the apartment, but the payment request and receipt say broker lease commission. Then on the lease it mentions the payment to the realtor portal and that the landlord will apply it to last month rent? We are increasingly frustrated with them and about $8,700 in the hole from paying them first and last month, the inspection fee, for new items we discarded, and for having to pay rent twice in order to move out to somewhere safer within a month span. Do we…
Deferred restraining order | Oct 26, 2026 | Sourced from the original Reddit post
Location: Massachusetts. My ex filed a restraining order against me in Probate court because I have been pressuring him to stop violating our custody orders and he doesn’t like that. I’m not sure what happened when he filed it but I got a summons in the mail to appear for a deferred hearing. The order wasn’t granted at his initial filing. What would happen or be the point then? A restraining order is for imminent safety and abuse but they push off the hearing? We’ve still been communicating about our child since there’s no current order not to.
Landlord said we are violating the lease because we are running the AC at night even though it's 60°F (15.5°C)? | Oct 17, 2026 | Sourced from the original Reddit post
Location: Massachusetts My BF (22M) and I (20F) are having multiple issues with our landlord. My main concern is in September, he gave us a piece of mail stating that it is not reasonable use of utility to run the AC at night when the temperature reaches 40°F (4.5°C) (he pays for electricity and lives in a separate part of the house). The mail also claims that by running the AC when it is below 60°F (15.5°C), it damages the property (water damage, mold, etc.). We have ignored such request and continue running the AC and he is now stating that we are violating the lease because he gave us notice. BUT we never signed agreeing to such notice and the original lease only stipulates reasonable use of electricity. Does he have any grounds to argue this? On top of this, we plan to go to court over him breaking our lease: He is terminating our lease October 31 because the lease states “within 30 days, the landlord can terminate the lease.” Even though it is an addendum in the lease, we do not think that this is enforceable with our 12-month lease. (We already have another place lined up for October 31). He has entered our apartment without notice multiple times (once 3 times in a single day). We have video (no audio) proof of him doing so on 3 separate days. In September, he texted “can you turn off the AC off when you are away." Later, he…
Brother Created Uber Delivery Account Under Elderly Mother’s Identity (82 - MASSACHUSETTS) | Oct 15, 2026 | Sourced from the original Reddit post
Location: Massachusetts My younger brother has registered an uber account under my 82 year old, cognitively impaired mother. We live in Boston, Massachusetts. I am the primary caregiver for my mother. She was identified by her neurologist as having cognitive impairments such as with her memory after she failed the MoCA twice but never received an official dementia or Alzheimer’s diagnosis but did have identified deficits in her cognitive abilities and memory that led to her neurologist taking away her driving privileges. My brother is forcing her to constantly meet him at the end of our street to do the identity verification selfies because there is a restraining order keeping him away from our house but I am unable to stop her from talking to him or going to see him despite me reporting multiple cases of elder abuse through the elder abuse portal / number in Massachusetts. We have power of attorney and health care proxy (which i share with an older brother) active but the police and elder services won’t do anything to stop the communications or forced uber identity verifications and tell me to report it to uber which is next to impossible. After the protective order went into motion my younger brother started calling my mother relentlessly to meet him at the end of the street to do the selfies. As there is no 1800 number there is no way for me to talk to a human. The chat bots tell me to use the phone…
