I wanted to play major league baseball, but that didn't work out. So, I became an attorney, was the Editor-in-Chief of my law school's law review, and got an LL.M. in Taxation. My first job out of law school was as a Law Clerk for the Honorable Lawrence Gubow, US District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan, in Detroit. I stayed for two years and it was the perfect job for me to learn how to practice law, how judges think, and how good attorneys prepare their cases for court. Judge Gubow gave his law clerks a lot of responsibility, was super smart, a very hard worker, passionate about being a judge, compassionate for all, and courteous to the attorneys and their clients appearing before him. Although Judge Gubow recently passed away, he continues to be a role model for me. In 1977, I joined and became partners in a new law firm with Carl Gromek and Mark Bendure. Carl later became the Chief Clerk of the Michigan Court of Appeals and then went on to be the Clerk of the Michigan Supreme Court. Mark and I have remained partners since 1977.

Location: Michigan To keep it brief, I got a lease of a 2026 Jeep Compass. After the first week my trunk/tailgate started making this weird wobbling/creaking noise. I took it back to the dealership and they “fixed” it. However a month ago the noise started again. Before I could call them and get my vehicle looked at, a message came on my dashboard stating to “service transmission” and my Jeep starting slightly jolting back and forth at times when I’d accelerate. I took my vehicle back into the dealership and they told me it’s an issue with the power train and some module that is connected to the transmission/oil. The part they needed took 3 weeks to get delivered to the dealership. So the vehicle was in the shop that whole time. I got my vehicle back and I’m still noticing the jolting and the noise with my trunk. I took it back again and they told me “unable to duplicate concerns”. At this point I give up. So after all of that, I have been in contact with a Jeep Case Manager and he stated they are going to offer me $2,500 for the inconvenience. What do you all think of this? It’s a lease so honestly I don’t really see the downside of this. But any advice would help!

The mother of my son and i have been broken up now for almost a year, have had a pretty good system of who gets him what days, but she has (in the heat of the moment) brought up that she will ask for custody of him mid-argument. Location: rural small town michigan. This crazy lady fraudulently filed a PPO against me. I filed a motion to terminate. I can prove(video, witnesses, police subpoenas, screenshots, and FOIA'd email threads) that almost everything she claimed is a lie. There are a few things I cant prove, but she cannot prove I did(claims I hacked her fb to post fake records about ME[yes, she claims I posted fake criminal records of myself on her Facebook to be able to then screenshot it and post to my account to humiliate her- fyi record claims I have a history as a convicted pedo but I have 0 record]) because I definitely didnt access her FB in any way nor did anyone do it on my behalf. They granted her the PPO exparte- she used every trigger word possible "harm me and my kids, threatening, mean glares, scared, hateful, hate speech etc". Now, law is I have to serve her without violating my PPO. I asked the clerk how to do it, and they sent me to Michigan Legal Aide website- live chat between 11am and 2pm. I’m 19 and got into my first accident a couple days ago. I was given a citation for failure to stop within an assured clear distance, and I’m trying to understand what my options are. There were 4 cars in a straight line and we were in bumper-to-bumper traffic. The speed limit was 45, but we were probably going 20 mph or less. I was the last car and was braking, but I wasn’t able to completely stop in time and hit the car in front of me. I wasn’t on my phone, distracted, or under the influence. What confuses me is the damage. The third car had by far the most damage. Its front grille/bumper was pushed in and heavily crumpled, but the back of the car, where I hit it, looked like it had little to no damage. The first two cars also had little to no damage. My Cadillac SRX barely had any damage either. The front bumper isn’t caved in and only has some light scratches, and my car still drives normally. Because of this, I’m wondering if the third car may have hit the second car first, and then I hit the third car afterward at a much lower speed. I obviously don’t know for sure because everything happened really fast. I didn’t take pictures of the other cars, unfortunately.
