I have been renting a house through property management (Allen Edwin community) for the last 5 years in Michigan. The carpet is now 6 or 7 years old. The seam has ripped and has become a tripping hazard with exposed staples. I have put in three work orders for this, but keep getting told I can do this at my own expense through their vendor. They said they don’t replace items in the middle of a lease. I understand if this was due to me actually destroying it, but you can see it’s literally worn down to the seam from simply living here with the lowest quality carpet used. (I will clarify, the carpet being worn wasn’t the reason for the request, the split seam being a tripping hazard with staples having cut us is) I know there are laws in place for safety, but I cannot find the right statute to cite to them. Location: Michigan To keep it brief, I got a lease of a 2026 Jeep Compass. After the first week my trunk/tailgate started making this weird wobbling/creaking noise. I took it back to the dealership and they “fixed” it. However a month ago the noise started again. Before I could call them and get my vehicle looked at, a message came on my dashboard stating to “service transmission” and my Jeep starting slightly jolting back and forth at times when I’d accelerate. I took my vehicle back into the dealership and they told me it’s an issue with the power train and some module that is connected to the transmission/oil. The part they needed took 3 weeks to get delivered to the dealership. So the vehicle was in the shop that whole time. I got my vehicle back and I’m still noticing the jolting and the noise with my trunk. I took it back again and they told me “unable to duplicate concerns”. At this point I give up. So after all of that, I have been in contact with a Jeep Case Manager and he stated they are going to offer me $2,500 for the inconvenience. What do you all think of this? It’s a lease so honestly I don’t really see the downside of this. But any advice would help!

Location: Michigan To preface this all. I am not in a custody battle as of writing this. The mother of my son and i have been broken up now for almost a year, have had a pretty good system of who gets him what days, but she has (in the heat of the moment) brought up that she will ask for custody of him mid-argument. Please bear with me, I will explain in better detail. And thank you for anyone who reads all of this. Ill try to keep this as short as possible while also giving all necessary info. My son is about to turn 2. His mom and I were together for 4 years, the last 2 of the years we were both noticeably unhappy. We got pregnant, I could never leave my child so I didnt bring up wanting to break up. Alottle after his 1 year is when we both mutually agreed to break up. It wasnt a screaming match, wasnt one walking in on the other cheating. It was a sit down and "I think we would be happier apart, and lets show our son 2 happy parents instead of 2 who are miserable and forcing themselves to stay with the other." She lives with her parents now and I live with mine. Since we broke up and moved out, I have had my son every week from Wednesday- Sunday. She gets him Sunday night through Wednesday mid day. So i already have had majority…
