Location: Reno, Nevada The lease to my apartment began on June 13th. We officially moved in on June 17th. By June 25th we had already noticed that our freezer was not freezing the groceries properly and our dishwasher didn’t turn on, so we placed a work order. I believe in my lease and by law it states that they must give you 24 hours prior to entering or coming to fix anything. They never gave us notice after explicitly asking for it because we have a dog that we would have to put away. Instead, they would call when they were at the door, and after three times of not being home because my partner and I were at work, they closed the order. We then opened more work orders and stated they can come in the house because we finally bought our dog a crate and she would remain in there while we were at work so they could enter. No one came back until July 8th where he said he couldn’t fix anything because he didn’t have the right tools and he would be back tomorrow. He came back with the property manager a week late after placing another work order because at this point I was getting fed up. I wasn’t home for this conversation but my husband was, and he said that they pretty much said we had too much food in the fridge and freezer. Although this wasn’t the case in prior visits, we just…

I'm just looking for some honest opinions before I spend a bunch of time trying to find an attorney. So i was sentenced to 2 1-4 years in prison running consecutively but it was suspended. My first probation case ended in February 2025. So I was then being supervised for the second charge until December 17, 2025 when suddenly one of the higher ups in parole and probation said that I should no longer be under supervision and even my probation officer said she wasn't even gonna drug test me because I was being "illegally supervised" within the next month I saw the judge and he just dismissed my case and honorably discharged me. So i live in the state of Nevada and from the research i have done its called stacking cases which isnt legal when it comes to probation term. During those extra 10 months I still had to report every month, drug test, go to AA/NA meetings, pay probation fees, and follow travel restrictions. During that time I was also arrested on a probation violation, spent 30 days in jail, and was sent to a 45-day rehab and then another 25-day rehab. Does this sound like something that's actually worth pursuing with a civil rights attorney, or am I way off? I'm not looking for people to tell me I'll definitely win anything—I just want to know if these facts sound like they could support a legitimate lawsuit. LOCATION: NEVADA

Location: Nevada County, CA I signed a contract with a solar contractor in January who has since slowed his work almost to a standstill. He has admitted to me that he spent all the money I gave him already (I paid in full—terrible idea I know) and has no more at the moment to continue. He has completed probably half of the project. If I want to formally sever my relationship with him and demand the remainder of my money back, do I need a lawyer to draft that letter or can I do it myself? I don’t have his physical mailing address and he seems to be in temporary housing now anyway based on what he has told me. I don’t honestly expect the letter to have much impact either way, but I want to do things the “right” way so that I have proper legal standing to demand the remainder of my money back should I ever (somehow) have a chance to recover any of it.
