Location: South Carolina A note was left on my door today (and presumably the doors of all tenants) informing us that the sewer lines are having major issues. It said to please not flush certain things in the toilets (feminine products, wipes, etc.) and not to pour grease down the sinks. The kicker is that they threatened to charge ALL tenants $100 if this issue continues. Are they allowed to do that? If it helps at all, the apartments are Section 8 and most tenants living here are on income based rent.

Location: South Carolina Hi - My mother recently passed in South Carolina. My older brother and I were named 50/50 heirs in her will (Home with mortgage and bank accounts). I was named the preferred representive of the estate in the will. I have filed the will and deed with the local county court. I live out of state. My brother and I will be in full agreement that the estate will be split 50/50. He is incarcerated if that matters. I can set up an appointment with the judge, for when I am back in SC for other business, and a family member has agreed to by MY personal reprentative in the state of SC. My question: Will it be too difficult/time consuming for me to care for this without an attorney? Or is this a situation where an attorney is a no-brainer?

Location: South Carolina I recently moved out of my apartment. My landlord sent me an e-mail claiming that I fully responsible for replacing carpet that went beyond normal wear and tear. Although I am willing to pay for some of the replacement cost, I do not think that I should be on the hook to pay the full cost of the carpet. It was 4 years old and it had a 5 year life span. Am I wrong?

Location: South Carolina My neighborhood's HOA would like to amend the covenants. I don't think it's possible because of the defined term of the covenants. A board-member is saying it is, with a majority of owners voting in the affirmative. The covenants were signed and notarized on September 9th, 1985. As defined in the covenants: TERM. These covenants are to run with the land shall be binding on all parties and all persons claiming under them for a period of forty (40) years from the date these covenants are recorded, after which time said covenants shall be automatically extended for successive periods of ten (10) years unless an instrument signed by a majority of the then owners of the lots has been recorded, agreeing to change said covenants in whole or in part. Some of us say the window for changing the covenants has passed as no action was taking in September 2025, and some of us are saying we are free to hold a vote and change them assuming the majority of owners agree to change. What say you?

When driving my motorcycle through a turn I hit a patch of gravel causing me to low side my motorcycle. I broke my collarbone in two places in both of my hands and some ribs. I was an extreme pain laying there couldn't move couldn't find my phone when somebody pulled up and helped me. I had blood and dirt and whatever else in my mouth and needed to drink something. The previous day we were at the river drinking whiskey and Coke. I didn't want to waste the whiskey that we had left over so I poured it into a thermos. I did not know that thermos was still in my bag. The people that pulled over to help me opened the thermos and help me drink it I realized it was whiskey but was in so much pain I didn't care because it was after the crash it shouldn't matter right. Wrong they did a blood test on me about an hour and a half later and it was .09. luckily I exchanged numbers with the people that pulled over. They arrested me in the hospital and took me to jail. I know I will be charged with open container. I'm using voice text to type so excuse the typos please. I hired a very good lawyer. My question is does the witness have to come to the court to provide a statement that they see me drink after the fact or do you think a written statement…
