Location: Tennessee. I asked a similar question to the r/renters subreddit, but wanted to ask here about the legal process of eviction in Tennessee. I moved into a new apartment complex in May of this year and paid rent on time until this month, when some emergency situations sapped my savings and paycheck and got me to a place where I was late on rent for this month. I let my landlord know as soon as I knew I would be late and she said that I needed to pay no later than the 14th or it would be sent to collections. It look me longer than anticipated to come up with some emergency funds, but I had sent her a message late last week saying that I knew I had passed the 14th, but that I was still working on repaying my late rent and wanted to keep her updated and also asked about whether there was a 14 day deadline and when that would be. She didn't respond to me until this Monday (the 24th) and basically said that my account was with collections now and that a 14 day cure letter was not required for unpaid rent. And then she said I had to contact the lawyer handling collections to make a payment. She did say that I had the option to pay and stay, but didn't give any further details. I am going to contact the lawyer tomorrow, but I wanted to see if anyone here…

I was stopped in location: Tennessee for suspected DUI. The officer had me do field sobriety tests and told me I failed, which seemed weird to me. After that, I took a breathalyzer and it came back 0.00. The officer then told me I was good and that I did not have a DUI or anything related to a DUI. He released me and allowed me to drive my own car home. I was given an incident report card with a case number, but no citation, court date, or DUI paperwork. How can I check to make sure no DUI charge or criminal case was filed, and how long should I wait before checking? Does it shows under my records or anything to concern about?

Location: Tennessee Thirty armed homeland security officers raided my father in law's place of work. Arrested him, took his laptop. Looking online, the only kind of locater we can find is related to ICE and immigration. He's a white dude, born and raised in america - and they took his laptop. So we think it must be something related to idk terrorism?? But we don't even know how to find out why he was taken or where. We are looking into lawyers, but even then, what kind? We are going to reach out to a criminal defense attorney for any sort of guidance. Should we be looking at local jails? The homeland security website with a locater but it's only related to immigration... we just have no clue where to go from here, if a lawyer is even helpful or the right move. I have a question hopefully someone can answer. I’m in the process of buying a house in Tennessee, I’m in contract, clear to close and closing is the 28th of this month. Now title company found that I shop on the property slightly encroaching neighboring property and they won’t insure it. Now sellers may ask neighbors for permission to use land and get this recorded and then submit to insurance company. Now the problem I have is I want to own the property that the shop sits on not permission. Will title insurance company now insure that shop with that easement permission or whatever they may call it and issue a clear title with only standard exceptions like my contract states or will it be with special exceptions. What I’m trying to say will it be a clear title as if there was no encroachment at all and can there be problems in the future with the shop being on others person’s property vs not being on any ones property.
