Practice Areas: Divorce & Separation
I've dreamed of becoming a lawyer for a large portion of my life, and I'm happy to report that years of practice have not dulled my passion! I consider it an absolute privilege to represent my clients and to meet people "where they're at". We all fall on hard times during various seasons, and I see first hand just how difficult it is to walk through a divorce, custody battle, criminal charge, protective order, and many other legal matters. Because I understand these unique personal challenges and emotional battles, I consider it my responsibility to operate as a light in a dark place. As a family law lawyer and certified mediator, I aim to help husbands and wives, fathers and mothers, family members and parents preserve their relationships for the sake of the children. If I can help individuals come to a place where they can sit around a table and figure things out together without fighting to the death in court, I consider it a great victory. Although I do enjoy going before a Judge and fighting for your position (as every true attorney enjoys!), I prefer to help my clients move forward without a blood-thirsty court battle.. I have practiced in Hampton Roads and the greater Peninsula area, and I am familiar with many local Judges and courtrooms. I've done much criminal defense and family law work in the past, but have now narrowed my practice to family law matters. As a graduate of Regent University School of Law and a Hampton Roads resident, I truly value serving my community in a way that helps many families and individuals move forward.. In my free time, I'm an avid songwriter and I enjoy singing with my Church's worship ministry. Plus, I'm a tea enthusiast, and I love burying my nose in a great book!

Katherine Fogarty

Firm: Kearney, Freeman, Fogarty & Joshi, PLLC
4085 Chain Bridge Rd , Fairfax , Virginia 22030
Practice Areas: Family
Katherine M. Fogarty is a skilled and successful litigator with a great deal of trial experience. She started her career trying cases even before she became an attorney—preparing cases and appearing in court as a third year law school student- then trying personal injury jury trials shortly after becoming a licensed attorney. Many domestic relations attorneys do not have this deep trial experience, making Ms. Fogarty especially prepared to represent her clients in court.. Ms. Fogarty has been involved in many difficult cases—most recently three child custody cases where relocation was an issue.. Along with her work at KFFJ Law, Ms. Fogarty has served as a Neutral Case Evaluator for the Fairfax County Circuit Court. This is a free service provided by the court to help people settle their personal injury or domestic relations cases through the use of a neutral party—an experienced attorney who can facilitate the settlement.. Ms. Fogarty is a long time resident of Northern Virginia, having attended Fairfax County Public Schools and graduating from Ft. Hunt High School. She now lives and works in the city of Fairfax. When she’s not working, Ms. Fogarty enjoys traveling and going to concerts at the many live music venues in the area. Ms. Fogarty has three daughters.

Katherine Currin

Firm: Morris, Crawford & Currin, P.C.
208 E. Plume St. Suite 338 , Norfolk , Virginia 23510
Practice Areas: Criminal Defense
I was raised in Oxford, North Carolina by my father who is an attorney, and my mother who was a teacher. My older brother and I both attended The University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill (UNC-CH - go heels!) together and graduated in 2004. I received a Bachelor of Arts in Religious Studies with Highest Honors. I immediately attended law school at UNC-CH and earned my Juris Doctor in May 2007.. Following law school, I moved to Norfolk, VA and began working as a sentencing advocate for the Public Defender in Chesapeake, VA until I received word that I had passed the bar on my first attempt in October of the same year. I spent much of my first years of practice defending indigent clients in Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court. I was privileged to have the opportunity to help many children charged with crimes in Chesapeake's Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court, and even received an invitation to attend the National Juvenile Defender's Conference in Washington, D.C. in 2010.. In 2011, I took the Bar Exam in North Carolina, opening the door to expand my practice into that state and I also transferred offices to the Norfolk Office of the Public Defender to continue my work with juveniles. I saw the transition to a new court and new city as an opportunity to grow professionally and improve my trial skills. In less than two years, I had been promoted to the violent crimes team in the Norfolk office. There, I moved from defending juveniles to adults charged with serious violent crimes involving rape, murder, robbery, arson, burglary, drug possession and distribution, and firearms charges.. I am now proud to partner with Diallo Morris and Tiffany Crawford to provide the highest quality legal representation in criminal and family law all over Hampton Roads. At Morris, Crawford and Currin, we all take your case seriously and will zealously advocate for you. This means not just giving effective representation in court, but taking the time to ensure our clients understand all the steps of the legal process. To provide the best representation for you, we carefully consider the circumstances that extend from and precede your current predicament. We would be honored to help you with your current legal needs.
