A Virginia native, Maryam graduated from George Mason University with a Bachelor of Science in Administration of Justice. She then obtained her Juris Doctor, magna cum laude, from George Mason University School of Law, where she was active in the Moot Court Board and Trial Advocacy Association. She also served on the board of the Pro Bono Society as director of its Legal Intake Program, which earned her the Outstanding Community Servant Award for her service in 2011.
