Hetal Challa

One Columbus Center Suite 678 , Virginia , Virginia 23462
Practice Areas: Family
Litigation has traditionally been the only option to resolve legal matters. Challa Law was formed with the vision that mediation is a more effective tool for conflict resolution.. Ms. Challa has a unique background in counseling, law and mediation. This combination of empathy, legal training, and practical people skills has enabled her to be an effective communicator, facilitator and advocate.. She graduated with a B.A in Psychology and a minor in Women’s Studies and worked as a counselor in an outpatient treatment center for 5 years. In this position she counseled adults and juveniles facing behavioral, educational, legal, and substance abuse issues. She also conducted individual, family and group therapy. Although this experience provided a compassionate outlet for helping others, Ms. Challa desired a more active role in advocating for those in need and pursued legal studies.. During law school, Ms. Challa was recognized for distinguished oral advocacy in the first year, as well as an award for exceptional job performance in working for the school law library. She worked in the Family Law Unit of Legal Aid. In this position she worked closely with clients dealing with divorce, custody, and visitation issues. After graduation, she worked as a contract attorney for 3 years for a large corporate law firm.. After moving to the Hampton Roads area, Ms. Challa obtained certification from the Supreme Court of Virginia as a mediator and has been mediating cases for over 10 years. These included highly emotional and complex cases such as landlord-tenant, contract disputes, corporate issues, protective orders, and neighborhood disputes. From her extensive experience in court, Ms. Challa began to understand the power of mediation and its potential for change. This power was most evident in the area of Family Law due to the intensity of the emotions involved, and the likelihood of lasting negative impact on children.. When Ms. Challa is not helping clients resolve their legal issues, she can be found giving back to students and the community. Ms. Challa enjoys teaching and has taught legal courses as adjunct faculty at a local college. She has been given an award for superior teaching and professionalism.. "What does the symbol on your logo mean?". Clients who visit my office or website will find an unqiue symbol. The symbol is an "ampersand" my partner and I designed when we started the firm.. The ampersand "&" is a logogram, that is a drawing that represents a word. The symbol originates in Roman times as the word "et" as in "etc." or "et al" meaning "and." In the centuries that followed, the repeated writing of the word "et" morphed into a symbol.. Because my firm believes effective legal solutions are best achieved through a collaborative effort between our team and you, we elected to create a logo that reflects this view. Thus, we took elements of each historical ampersand and combined them to create our own collaborative ampersand and used it as our logo.

Eva Juncker

Firm: Zavos Juncker Law Group PLLC
252 N Washington St , Falls Church , Virginia 22046
Practice Areas: Family
I knew I wanted to be an attorney from a very young age. As a young adult I was a spirited negotiator and enjoyed a good verbal duel, much to my parents' chagrin. I also enjoyed developing and honing my logic and strategy skills to obtain sought-after outcomes. As the child of divorced parents in the Northern Virginia area, I understand first-hand how a litigated divorce can negatively impact children. I also understand the interplay of blended families, and I am very close to my step-mother and half-brother.. I enjoy all aspects of being a divorce litigator, from the direct client interaction, to strategizing best paths to optimal outcomes and obtaining excellent results for my clients either via mediation or litigation. Unafraid of litigating matters of first impression, I have obtained positive results in matters of first impression throughout my career. I enjoy and do best when thinking outside of the standard family law paradigm to find creative solutions for my clients that help them feel empowered by an otherwise overwhelming process.. My mind is always working on matters that will positively impact my clients, whether it be reading the latest case law, working on state bar committees and conferences, assisting in a national legal task force, or simply volunteering in pro bono family law matters. My work is my passion and my peers are my friends.

Elizabeth Bookwalter

Firm: Patterson Bookwalter PLLC
10332 Main Street, Suite 322 , Fairfax , Virginia 22030
Practice Areas: Family
My practice has focused exclusively on family law since 2016. I handle matters including divorce, custody, child support, spousal support, equitable distribution, business valuation, step-parent adoption, premarital agreements, protective orders, and enforcement issues. My cases have included complex issues such as mental health concerns, domestic abuse, alcohol and drug addiction, parental alienation, financial tracing, and unilateral dissipation of assets.. I believe that litigation is often the last resort in handling family law matters. I encourage my clients to consider alternatives to litigation, including lawyer negotiation, mediation, and collaborative law. However, I recognize that some cases are not appropriate for settlement and litigation is necessary for resolution. Regardless of how your matter is resolved, I will zealously advocate for a resolution that serves your best interests, including consideration of your financial, emotional, and legal rights and needs.. I currently practice in Arlington County, City of Alexandria, Fairfax County, Loudoun County, and Prince William County in circuit courts and juvenile and domestic relations courts.
