Location: Washington State Car accident in February 2026 (not my fault). Went to my doctor the next day. She referred me to massage and Physical Therapy. The total treatment lasted about 4 months. There were two very painful relapses including a follow-up doctor visit at one of them. I should've, but didn't miss work because I'm an tax accountant and it's my busy season. Total medical bills were about $7,350, which PIP already covered and will be reimbursed separately by the at-fault driver's insurer. I'm negotiating for pain and suffering directly with the at-fault driver's insurance adjuster, no attorney involved yet. Opened at $16k, came down to $14k. Adjuster offered $6,000, I pushed back, they escalated to a supervisor, and the supervisor held firm at $8,000 — citing that treatment was mostly massage with limited PT, and that 4 months with two relapses is 'typical' for soft tissue injuries. Questions: Is $8,000 reasonable for general damages? At what point does it make sense to bring in a PI attorney instead of continuing to negotiate myself? Is there real leverage in threatening small claims court, or is that mostly a bluff at this point? Any input appreciated, especially from anyone who's dealt with Travelers specifically.

So I was in a car accident in location: Puyallup, Washington a couple of months ago. I am fully at fault for this accident as I rear ended the other vehicle. My truck was totaled, and I’m sure her car was as well. Let me make very clear that I was not under the influence of any type of substance and that it was a total unintentional and unfortunate accident. But instead of doing any negotiation with my insurance company ( I have USAA) she got greedy and went straight for a lawsuit. I’m convinced she only had minor injuries such as whiplash and possibly a concussion. I think she is trying to go after my husband’s assets as he is the one who owns everything, the cars, the house and he makes way more than I do. What can I do to protect his stuff? I just work a minimum wage retail job. Her and her lawyer have been playing games, stupid stuff like trying to send a process server while my daughter was home alone, refusing to communicate, such stuff as that. What can I do to protect myself and more importantly my husband as he was not at fault. I was driving myself to the gym. Location: Washington state. My brother died in a car crash that killed two other people. For whatever reason, he crossed into oncoming traffic on the highway. He was a very gentle person but in poor health for his age due to chronic health conditions. When I hugged him I felt bones. I think it was a health event, he always worried about his heart. He would have rather died a thousand times than hurt someone. I know any family member would say that, but with him it’s true. Location: Seattle Washington Hello everyone, I was recently rear ended by a semi-truck driver which caused some damage to my trunk/bumper. I have to turn in my car now to the repair shop to get the damages fixed but then I'll be out of a car. My insurance doesn't provide a rental either and I NEED one for work. Can I ask the trucking company to pay for the rental? Or if they don't want to, can I sue them for that compensation? If I wasn't rear ended I wouldn't have to get a rental in the first place so. Just asking so I can minimize what I'm paying out of pocket. The cost of the rental is over 1000$.
