Interest in Law and Serving Community. I was born in Tacoma and raised in the Northwest. I’ve traveled around the US, including a three year stint in Los Angeles, and I’ve traveled abroad too: by taking advantage of study abroad programs I spent months in Europe and South America. But there’s no place quite like my home town, Tacoma. Small town feel with the perks of big city living; Tacoma really is, as singer-songwriter Neko Case said, “a dusty old jewel in South Puget Sound.”. My love for my community complements my interest in business. Businesses have a great opportunity in Tacoma— I want to help others realize that opportunity.. Of course, running a business is not without difficulty, risk, and conflict. My passion is counseling individuals and businesses in crisis, providing navigation from conflict to conflict resolution. My ultimate goal is to provide resolute and enthusiastic risk management, negotiation, or litigation of business disputes. After ten years working in the service industry, including three years as a manager, I have experienced the importance of maintaining a sense of urgency and grace under pressure. These skills are invaluable when responding to crisis.. Similarly, defending clients charged with crimes requires experience to responding to crisis. After representing hundreds of clients, I have experience using evidentiary/ factual and legal issues as tools for negotiatons, successful motions, and at trial. I dedicate a significant portion of my pracice to DUI/DWI defense.. My experience includes numerous court appearances on behalf of clients, negotiation of favorable settlements, discovery, and pre-trial motions. My professional work extends to a commitment to pro bono services. I volunteer twice a month in the settlement and litigation of eviction matters for low-income individuals and families in South King County.. Becoming a lawyer has empowered me to make a real difference in the lives of business people in the community that I love. I am thankful every day for this opportunity and challenge.. Primary Practice Areas. My primary practice areas are DUI/DWI, business dispute resolution, including litigation and litigation defense, criminal defense, commercial landlord/tenant, copyright law, trademark law and entertainment law.. I am licensed to practice law in Washington.. Interests and Hobbies. When I’m away from work, I enjoy reading, playing bass guitar, and staying active–enjoying the outdoors and exercising. I dream of one day building a sail boat by hand.

Ronald Yu

701 5th Ave , Seattle , Washington 98104
Practice Areas: Litigation
Allen Yu was born and raised in Eastern Washington, where he learned the true meaning of hard work while growing up in a small town. He then relocated to Seattle, where he graduated early from the University of Washington with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and a minor in Law, Societies, and Justice. This education allowed him to see the benefits and hardships created by the laws we live by. Thus, it was through this education that he started learning how to passionately build arguments and aggressively debate key points, while at the same time developing compassion for those in difficult situations.. While attending the University of Washington, he was a Legislative Intern in Congress. It was in this role that he was able to sharpen his abilities to craft arguments and defend positions on major topics of national impact.. Allen then went on to earn his law degree from the University of Minnesota Law School in Minneapolis, where he served as a Note and Comment Editor for the Minnesota Journal of International Law. His training in law school focused largely on civil litigation. In his second year of law school, he was named a Student Attorney in the Robins, Kaplan Civil Practice Clinic, where he litigated in court on behalf of clients in various complex cases. Due to his stellar work, he was promoted and appointed by the clinical faculty in his third year of law school to be a Student Director in the University of Minnesota Law School’s Clinical Program, where he assisted in managing, supervising, and training multiple Student Attorneys to litigate cases. During his time in law school, he also served as a Judicial Intern in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Washington, where he carefully drafted orders and gave his legal argument for how the court should rule.. Prior to joining Davis Rothwell, Allen worked as an associate attorney at a civil litigation firm where he was second-in-command of a team of attorneys and paralegals litigating many emotional and complex cases. He advocated on behalf of his clients at numerous court hearings and mediations while in that role.. Allen’s experience and education has taught him to seamlessly create and blend compelling legal arguments, meticulous research and legal writing, efficient and effective action to zealously protect a client’s rights, prompt responses to client inquiries, compassion for his clients in times of need, and integrity in advocacy.

Scott Weaver

Firm: Carney Badley Spellman, P.S.
701 Fifth Avenue , Seattle , Washington 98104
Practice Areas: Litigation
My practice focuses on business and commercial litigation. A great deal of my work involves real estate disputes, landlord tenant disputes, construction disputes and general business disputes. I represent both large companies and small individuals. Some of my large real estate/development/construction related clients include the Benaroya Companies, Samis Foundation, Morris Piha Real Estate Services, Legacy Partners Commercial and Residential Real Estate, The Stratford Group, SRO, Schnitzer NW, Opus, Heger Architects, Forest City Residential, Tarragon and Western America.. When a client retains me to assist with a dispute, I fight to resolve the dispute in a manner that most economically benefits my client. Sometimes that involves fighting like a junk yard dog through trial. More often though, it involves being reasonable and cool headed while convincing the adverse party and his/her attorney of the merit's of my client's case. When I do my job correctly, the adverse party backs off his/her position and negotiates a resolution that most benefits my party. If I do my job correctly, we don't unnecessarily churn through thousands or hundreds of thousands of dollars in attorney's fees. My clients never say, "the only winners in the litigation were the attorneys."
