My name, István, means Steve in Hungarian. I am the attorney in the firm.. I was born in Subotica, in the former Yugoslavia, and immigrated to the United States when I was still in elementary school.. I graduated from Santa Fe Catholic High School in Lakeland, Florida, and then went on to earn my Bachelor of Chemical Engineering degree from Auburn University, at Auburn, Alabama.. I worked as an engineer for a number of years, and in the evenings, I earned a Master of Engineering Management degree from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst.. At the age of 35, I decided to change careers, and went to law school at the University of Akron in Ohio, where I got my Juris Doctor degree.. After law school, I returned to Rock Springs, Wyoming, where I have been in private practice since 1998.. I am a member of the Wyoming, Florida and Utah State Bars. I also write about the law here, and here.. Although I love practicing law, I love my family even more.  My wife and I have been married since 1984, and we have four children.. Our oldest is a pilot in the United States Air Force.  He flew C-130's, and did a tour in Afghanistan.  Now he is a T-6 instructor pilot.. Our second child is an event planner, and has lived in Southeast Asia since her early 20's.  We are happy for her exciting life, but wish we could see her more often.. The third child got his degree in music, and he is now pursuing his musical career as a trombonist, guitarist and songwriter.. Finally, our baby is almost done with her English degree.  Where she will go after graduation, no one knows.. Now that we are almost done raising our children, my wife and I get to do more of the things we love to do.  That would be traveling, camping, cross country skiing, biking, and fishing.

Ian Sandefer is a native of Casper, Wyoming and is a member of Sandefer & Woolsey. Ian’s primary areas of practice are plaintiff’s personal injury and criminal defense. After completing his Bachelor’s degree, Ian moved back to Wyoming and volunteered as an AmeriCorps VISTA at the Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Wyoming for one year.. Ian then attended law school at the University of California, Berkeley (Boalt Hall), widely regarded as one of the premier law schools in the nation. While in law school Ian externed for Chief Judge Vaughn R. Walker of the United States District Court for the Northern District of California; taught Street Law classes at Alameda County Juvenile Hall; was a Board member of the Youth and Education Law Society and the Boalt Hall Criminal Law Association; served as a clinical student at the East Bay Community Law Center in the housing unit; and was a summer law clerk at the National Center for Youth Law and at Cotchett, Pitre, Simon & McCarthy.. In 2012, Ian was selected as one of the top 40 trial lawyers under the age of 40 in the State of Wyoming by the National Trial Lawyers. Ian lives in Casper with his three children and currently sits on the Board of Directors of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Wyoming and Renewed Hope Foundation.
