Location: California So we live in an apartment where everyone talks and I found out by the handyman that the guy who hit my car lives on the third floor. They know who he is but he mentions that the police didn't want to investigate. I overheard the policemen talk among themselves and mentioned a car parked damaged covered in a tarp the day of the accident. The apartment manager took pics of the vehicle but was no help but was told on this sub because of a liability issue. I'm not sure if those photos were sent to the police or if they even took photos themselves which I feel like they should have. I also already have the police report but no one is mentioned as the responsible party. This happened July 12, I have the video of the car hitting ours ( there were about 3-4 cars hit (no license plate but the car could possibly be matched or even questioned where it went ( they towed the car once the cops left as noted by some neighbors) All I got was by the policemen card with the report details and told me to let my insurance do the rest. I just hate that I'm the one paying 1,000 and waiting weeks to get it fixed. Finally it is getting fixed but I just don't like that there is no justice. Is there anything I can do? Make a complaint to the police department?

Location: California Please hear me out. I believe have compelling reasons to believe this could have been a genuine miscarriage of justice. I am so desperate to do something. I have felt so helpless since this happened. (damage,location and speed data from life360, actual location of the two cars, a photo from above of the on ramp,and my injuries and hospital paper, police report excerpts) On 1/8, 2:30 PM, Torrance, LA County, California with the emptiest 405 I’ve ever seen in my life, I was entering the 405N from the Crenshaw on ramp. This crash happened mere FEET from the start of the freeway. This on ramp has an extremely sharp curve. You cannot go more than 20 mph safely. My life360 drive data pinpoints the location of the crash. My speed around the on ramp to the point of the crash was 19mph. people entering initially drive in their own lane, and there’s a wide triangle next to the “official” start of the freeway separating the other lanes. I’m a parent in Southern California, and a few days ago my 5-year-old daughter was one of the children injured when a car drove through the fence of her preschool and crashed directly into a classroom. Location: SoCal Eight children were taken to the hospital. We were just allowed to watch the preschool’s surveillance video, and what we saw was significantly worse than what we had understood from the initial reports. Eight children were sleeping directly along the wall that the vehicle hit. The car came through the property, destroyed the wall, and debris collapsed onto the children. My daughter was underneath the collapsed structure and could not be removed for approximately 4.5 minutes. Thankfully, she survived and did not suffer what appears to be a catastrophic physical injury. But since the accident, she has changed noticeably. She wakes up at night when she never did before. Sirens scare her. She is afraid of getting into a car. Every morning she asks us not to take her back to preschool, even though the preschool is currently closed and we are not taking her there. She also largely refuses to talk about what happened. Location: California (Location of Incident), Colorado (State of Residence) While on a vacation in California, my wife rear-ended another vehicle on the freeway when traffic backed up and she was slow to realize traffic was not just slowing but had stopped. The other driver reported they were not injured at the scene and police advised us that in a non-injury accident, they would not send an officer, we should just trade insurance and carry on. Later my insurance informed me the other party has secured a lawyer and is claiming they sustained injuries to their neck and wrist. I recieved a letter from my insurance today. It states that the other party has requested disclosure of the policy limits for my insurance, which they would need my permission to do. The letter states: "Please note that the non-disclosure of policy limits at this time could cause the other party to file a lawsuit to obtain the policy limits through the civil litigation discovery process." The insurance coverage I have in a sane world would easily cover any reasonable injury this person may have sustained but was not aware of in the moment, but I am becoming increasingly concerned they are trying to argue some enormous payout. Is this a common request and is it one I should grant? Thanks in advance.

Location: Los Angeles, California, USA Back in March I was hit by someone while driving; I was in the middle of a 4-way Stop intersection when they ran the stop sign and T-Boned me. I didn't have car insurance at the time. Of course they flipped and blamed me (even though as far as logic dictates the damage clearly indicates they hit me but alas I'm uninsured.) This past month I received this Tort Claim in the mail saying the damages to them are approx $19k. What should I do next? Should I try to find a lawyer? I assume I should not talk to them unless I have a lawyer. Is this likely to become a lawsuit? What could happen if they sue and win? I have about $4k to my name, debt notwithstanding so I wouldn't be able to pay. What's the point at which I could no longer ignore them? Anything else I should be considering? I lost my license over this and am now on a restricted license. I have car insurance but the low cost auto company doesn't do retroactive coverage. Thank you!!!
