Transfer of noncivil service personnel on reorganization.

Official statutory text

Every noncivil service employee or officer of any county or city and county transferred or appointed to a civil service position as a consequence of the reorganization of any governmental department, board, commission, or office or any bureau, division, or subdivision thereof, shall become a civil service employee as of the date of the transfer or appointment without loss of vacation or sick leave allowances, service credits, or other rights and privileges and without the necessity of examination; provided that the employee or officer possesses, at the time of the transfer or appointment, the minimum qualifications for the position to which the employee or officer is transferred or appointed; provided further that subsequent changes in status may be made pursuant to applicable personnel laws. This section shall not apply to provisional, temporary, or contractual employees at the time of reorganization.
