Departments and agencies of state government to strive for economic efficiency

(a) Each department and agency of state government shall strive to achieve economic efficiency through utilization of innovative approaches and methodologies while maintaining the highest level of service for the citizens of Tennessee. (b) In achieving economic efficiency, each department and agency is encouraged to seek input and ideas from their employees and the general public. Each department and agency is encouraged to include a public comment portal on its website to facilitate such solicitations. (c) Each department and agency shall annually report progress in achieving economic efficiency during their budget hearings to the appropriate committees of the senate and house of representatives.
