Posting or publication of recognized school support organizations - Public inspection of forms, reports or financial statements

(a) The director of schools or the director's designee shall annually post or publish a list of organizations that have complied with § 49-2-604(b) . This posting or publication may be made by written or electronic means. The school board shall determine the appropriate method of posting or publishing this information. (b) Any local board of education is authorized to develop a process to certify that an organization has been recognized as a school support organization; however, a local board of education shall not incur any liability for the recognition. (c) Any forms, annual reports, or financial statements required to be submitted according to the policy adopted by the board pursuant to § 49-2-604(b) to the director of schools or the local school principal shall be open to public inspection.
