§ 502.013. VOLUNTARY DISCLOSURE OF MILITARY STATUS BY REGISTRATION APPLICANT.

Official statutory text

(a) When a person registers or renews the registration of a motor vehicle under this chapter, the department shall provide the person with the option to indicate whether the person is a member of the United States armed forces.

(b) If a person indicates under Subsection (a) that the person is a member of the United States armed forces, the department shall include the person's status as a member of the United States armed forces:

(1) in the department's vehicle registration records for the vehicle described by Subsection (a); and

(2) with any record information released by the department relating to the department's vehicle registration records for the vehicle described by Subsection (a), including a report issued by the department for the vehicle.
