His family moved soon thereafter to Virginia Beach, Virginia, where Mr. Waldman grew up and graduated from Princess Anne High School. Barry attended the University of Virginia and graduated in 1995 with a bachelor's degree in History and a minor in Urban Planning. Mr. Waldman was active in the Inter-Fraternity Council, was an editorialist for a college newspaper, and a morning drive-time DJ for a radio station. Upon graduation Mr. Waldman worked as an account representative for a major textile manufacturer, serving clients throughout the Mid-Atlantic region. Under Mr. Waldman's management, sales grew in his territory by over 400%.. Mr. Waldman attended law school at the University of Richmond’s School of Law in Richmond, Virginia. While there, he served as President of the school's chapter of the American Bar Association, participated in the Child Advocacy Clinic, and published two scholarly articles.
