My name is Alena Chaban. I practice mostly family law, as well as estate planning. My practice in family law includes cases involving dissolution of marriage, paternity (cases involving a child born to unmarried parents), child support establishment and modification, as well as child custody arrangements. I graduated from the University of Central Florida with a bachelor's degree in Legal Studies. While there, I was a member of the trial team, as well as a member of the Golden Key Honor Society.. I received my Juris Doctorate degree from Dwayne O. Andreas, Barry University School of Law. While there I was a teacher's assistant, as well as a research assistant for two professors. I was part of the Barry Law Moot Court team, where I competed in five competitions, including a final argument round in front of the Florida Supreme Court. I also was the Editor-in-Chief of Barry Law Review. I interned at a large plaintiff personal injury firm and at a insurance defense firm for one of the largest insurance companies in the nation. I volunteered my time at Seminole County Legal Aid Society, where I helped low-income and domestic violence clients apply for legal aid services. I graduated magna cum laude in the top five percent of my class, and was inducted into the National Order of Scribes, an award for outstanding legal writing.. I seek to distinguish my practice by ensuring prompt and personal communication with my clients. I endeavor to not only advocate and guide my clients, but to educate as well, so that my client not only feels informed about the route we take in their case, but confident that it is the route they want. At my firm, we understand that a family law case involves high stakes and even higher emotions. We take great pride in offering compassionate legal services. Litigation can feel overwhelming, we help to mitigate that burden.. On a personal level, I am a mother to a little boy, as well as two cats and a Great Dane. Needless to say, I am used to a little chaos. I enjoy going to the beach with my family and spending time with friends.
