Education. Kristine Young graduated from the University of California, Irvine, with a degree in Criminology, Law, and Society and a minor in Political Science.  While an undergraduate, Ms. Young was a teaching assistant for criminal law courses, volunteered her time as an investigative interviewer with the Orange County Public Defender, and worked for the United States House of Representatives in Washington, D.C.. Ms. Young attended law school at Santa Clara University, where she received numerous awards and commendations for brief writing and oral advocacy.. Awards and Honors. While in law school, Kristine Young was an editor on the Law Review, worked for the Santa Clara Superior Court as a judicial intern, and was finalist in the school’s moot court competition.  She also competed on a national level representing the university in the prestigious National Moot Court Competition.  During her time at Santa Clara, Ms. Young received the Pro Bono Service Award, and graduated with a Certificate in Public Interest and Social Justice.. Practical Experience. Kristine Young worked as a bar-certified law clerk for a bay area family law firm during her law school tenure, and continued with the firm as an associate upon passing the bar.  Ms. Young worked on hundreds of cases across numerous counties, and the breadth of her practice encompassed all areas of family law, including divorces, guardianships, adoptions, paternity cases, child support, spousal support, custody and visitation, move-away requests, and property division..
