I have been practicing law in Colorado since 1996. I fight hard for my clients, and fervently believe in what I do. I have never been a prosecutor, and am a defender to my core. When in law school, I interned with the Colorado Public Defender's Office. I chose to go into private practice because I do better with fewer cases, and can devote myself more fully to a case. I have significant experience litigating personal injury cases and take great satisfaction in obtaining strong outcomes for my clients. I am always happy to answer questions, and if I can't help, I'll try to refer you to someone who can. Please feel free to call me.
I have been practicing law for over sixteen years in Colorado. My practice began with two exceptional firms in Colorado that provided me with signifcant training and experience in the areas of corporate law, securities offerings, mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance, and representing emerging growth companies (start-ups). After seven years of law firm experience, I decided to join one of my clients in house as General Counsel. My first General Counsel experience was with a media and technology company that licensed content from motion picture studios, independent producers, and sports organizations and then licensed that content to customers for adverstising or other commercial purposes. This company also developed sophisticated technology that enabled the digital delivery of finished programming for studios and produced Platform as a Service products that enabled and managed digital archives of content. My second General Counsel experience involved a global servicing company that provides travel serrvices, temporary housing serrvices and relocation services to multinational corporations and fortune 500 clients.. My experiences have enabled me to truly understand the operations of business and changes in businesses. Too often there is not enough focus on the client business and understanding their needs and the reasons for the needs, which can create a frustration between the lawyer and the business. Priorities of clients can shift and it is imperative to consistently communicate with clients and understand them, so they have what they need from me to tackle the next challenge without being left on their heels.
I have been practicing law for 33+ years. My motto has always been, "Resolution through negotiation or trial, if necessray." The landscape of solution requires a strong partnership between the lawyer and the client. Although results can never be guaranteed, effort can.
I have been practicing in the areas of family law, wills and estates, real estate, business law, and commercial litigation since November 1969.. My mission statement is to provide "Effective legal services at a reasonable rate."
I have been practicing entirely family law for almost 3 decades now. Family law became my focus early on just because there were a lot of people who came to my office with those kind of matters. I learned that I liked this area law because I was not afraid of the emotions that go along with it. As a business owner, a mother and a wife, I understand the things parents have to juggle on a daily basis. Adding a legal proceeding to the mix can feel overwhelming. The most important thing I can do for my clients is to protect their interests in a legal proceeding so they can continue to focus on their children and their jobs.. I litigate divorce cases from the simple to the complex. I have handled countless motions hearings and trials all over the metro area. Determining income and cash-flow, tax consequences and valuing of real estate, personal property and businesses are a regular part of my practice. Child custody and parenting time disputes can be ongoing. I represent many new and returning clients in modifying parenting time and child support. I partner with CPAs, therapists and other professionals to get the best results for my clients.. I have active licenses in Minnesota and Colorado. Our two offices allow me to handle a steady stream of interstate divorce and family cases..
