Both of my grandfathers were veterans of World War II and my paternal grandfather received the Purple Heart and Silver Star from Fleet Admiral Nimitz for his heroism as a medic on the Pacific Front. My legal career began at the Orange County Public Defender's Office in February of 2005, where I worked for 9.5 years.  At the time I left in 2014, I was an attorney in the major crimes division, handling only first and second degree murder cases.  I left to start a firm with two partners, but a little over a year later, one partner needed to dissolve the firm, so I formed a solo practice to finish out my criminal cases.  I am proud to be back at the Public Defender's Office as of August 2016, helping those who cannot afford to hire an attorney.. My great grandfather, Eugene Malone, started a law firm in Central Illinois which my father, Richard James "Jim" Lannon, Jr., managed prior to being appointed Judge on the 13th Judicial Circuit, in and for LaSalle County, Illinois. My Aunt, M. Catherine Lannon, was the head of the Administrative Law Division of the Florida Attorney General's Office for 33 years after clerking at the 1st DCA. My cousin, Laura C. Lannon, served as a prosecutor for Cook County, Illinois (i.e., the Chicago metropolitan area) prior to her untimely and unfortunate death. You could say that being an attorney is in my blood.. Born in LaSalle, Illinois in 1974, my family moved to Dedham, Massachusetts when my parents divorced in 1984. I attended school in Massachusetts from 4th grade to my senior year of college, having graduated from The College of the Holy Cross in Worcester in 1996. Quince at the Florida Supreme Court for 2 years. I then worked at the 8th largest law firm in the world at the time in its Central Florida Litigation Practice Group handling commercial litigation and appeals. I left that Am Law 100 firm to work at an intellectual property litigation boutique before serving as the Deputy City Attorney in Palm Bay, Florida for 2.5 years. I was thereafter promoted to City Attorney, a position that I held for 7 years before founding my law firm.

The Firm has the resources to litigate matters before arbitration panels, state and federal courts. Mr. Weiss is frequently asked to serve as a private arbitrator or with the stipulation of the parties, act as a mediator in a variety of construction matters.

Mr. Van Alstyne's practice is focused on civil litigation with an emphasis on Construction and Real Estate. He has a wide range of practical work experience both as a construction manager and an engineering project manager. After obtaining his undergraduate degree in construction management, he worked on large and small commercial construction projects as a project engineer with general contractors until he received a graduate certificate in urban and regional planning in 2007.. He then spent the next five years working for a nationwide engineering firm that specializes in facilities, geotechnical, materials testing, and environmental consulting. Lewis learned about each of these four disciplines, but spent most of his time as a project manager in the facilities department conducting engineering assessments, energy audits, capital budget planning, or construction loan monitoring on over 10 million square feet spread across more than 600 retail, office, multi-family, or industrial buildings. On the environmental consulting side of the business, he conducted site reconnaissance and prepared reports for Phase I Environmental Site Assessments, Limited Site Assessments, Soil Sampling, Groundwater Sampling, and Asbestos Sampling.. Wanting to apply his passion for construction and engineering to the legal realm, he went on to receive his law degree and now enjoys helping clients such as owners, developers, contractors & subs, architects, and engineers.

Mr. Sheffler focuses his practice on representation of businesses involved in a wide range of industries and on issues including business litigation, commercial collection, business strategy and contract negotiation. Additionally, Mr. Sheffler represents clients in the construction industry throughout Florida on issues involving Florida's Construction Lien law, payment bond claims and varied construction related matters.. Mr. Sheffler graduated from the University of Florida's College of Business Administration in 1987. In 1990, he graduated from the University of Florida College of Law receiving his Juris Doctorate degree and has been a member of the Florida Bar since 1991. He is a member of the Florida Bar, American Bar Association, and American Inns of Court.. Mr. Sheffler was an associate with the Law Offices of Robert Worman from 1991-1994. He then served as President and corporate attorney to his family's food and paper goods distribution business in central Florida from 1994 until 2002. Mr. Sheffler returned to the full time practice of law as an associate with the Law Offices of Robert B. Worman in 2002. In January 2006, he became a shareholder and partner in the firm now known as Worman & Sheffler, P.A.. By having been intimately involved in the daily operations of the wholesale distribution business, Mr. Sheffler developed a working knowledge and familiarity with issues involving credit analysis, open account sales, warehousing and varied business matters that gives him a unique understanding of many of the business issues facing his clients.. Mr. Sheffler has conducted several seminars on such topics as business credit analysis and debt collection under Florida law as well as Florida's Construction Lien Law. He has also lectured for the National Business Institute.. Mr. Sheffler has been active in many community and civic organizations, and in 2006 and 2007 volunteered as a member of the Executive Steering Committee for AAU Baseball for the state of Florida.
