I have had the pleasure of representing individuals as a Family Law attorney for over 20 years in the Springfield Area. I have regularly been appointed by the Court in State Intervention Case since 1999. These are cases where the Department of Children and Families has taken children away from their parents.  These cases are very difficult cases that result in the termination of parental rights.  I have advocated in hundreds of these cases.. I served in the Military in the Judge Advocates office and Worked from 1992-1999. as a Social Worker for the Department of Social Services for 7 years where I provided direct services to my client in both English and Spanish.

David S. Hughey attended college in Illinois at Wheaton University and earned his J.D. Degree from in 1987 from The University of Houston. .  Mr. Hughey believed that in starting his own practice, he could fully realize his passion for helping people. In 1993, along with his wife, Robin Hughey, they founded Hughey and Hughey. The primary focus of Mr. Hughey's practice has been family law and personal injury.. While a transplant from Florida, I have lived most of my life in the East Tennessee Region.  I completed my undergraduate studies at the University of Tennessee and I am a proud alumnus of the University of Tennessee Army ROTC program.. I studied law at Lincoln Memorial University's Duncan School of law and graduated at the top of my class.  I practice law at the Law Office of Kevin W. Shepherd and while relatively new to the practice, I put in the extra work to be prepared for everything I do.   I have been very blessed to be mentored by one of the top attorney's in the Maryville area.  Kevin teaches several seminars every year including the Tennessee Attorney's Memo Family Law Conference in Nashville, TN..
