I attended George Fox University and received a Bachelors of Arts in Political Science and History in 2008.  I later attended Willamette University College of Law and earned my law degree in 2013.  After graduating law school, my practice has primarily focused on family law (including complex dissolutions, legal separations, custody, parenting time and support issues). I was admitted to the US District Court for the District of Oregon and am member of the Oregon State Bar Association.  I joined Brown, Tarlow, Bridges & Palmer, PC, in 2015 and will continue serving my clients in family-related matters.

The majority of my practice is devoted to divorce and family law, generally in Multnomah and Clackamas Counties, and occasionally in many other Oregon Counties.  I have been handling all facets of family law for over two decades, including divorce, property division, spousal support, child custody and support, custody matters involving unmarried parents, domestic violence restraining orders, modification of support and parenting time, cases involving out-of-state moves by one parent, and many other family law matters.. I was a military wife for 18 years, travelling to many places throughout the United States and Europe.  It was a fascinating experience and taught me about different cultures and people.  I use that experience in my law practice.  I try to focus on more than just a person's legal issues.  I feel it is important to help a client stay calm and focused during a time in their lives when so much may seem to be out of control.. I began my education while stationed at RAF Lakenheath, United Kingdom.  I finished my bachelors of science degree, graduating cum laude, at Auburn University, Montgomery, in Montgomery, Alabama.  I finished my education in 2014, getting my law degree at the University of Oregon.  I passed the bar in 2014 and have been practicing continuously since that time.. My goal as an attorney is to do what I can to help my clients reach their goals.  If those goals are not realistic, I will tell my clients and help them readjust to something more obtainable.  I feel it is important to be upfront with clients, even if that means telling them the brutal realities of their situation.

Jessica is an aggressive litigator that enjoys cooking and winetasting with her family in her spare time.. She can also be seen cheering for her favorite two birds: the Oregon Ducks and Creighton Bluejays.

Devin graduated from the University of Oregon in 2011, where he earned a Bachelor of Science with a major in Political Science and a minor in English. Upon graduating, he pursued a career as an attorney by enrolling at the University of Oregon School of Law, where he graduated in 2014. A Portland native, Devin moved to Grants Pass in 2016.  His practice focuses primarily on all aspects of family law plus juvenile dependency matters.

I grew up in Vale, Oregon. I went to school at University of Oregon where I became a Duck and recieved my bachelor's degree in Psychology. After college, I worked for three years as a residential counselor working with adjudicated youth with alcohol or drug addiction. I went to law school at Lewis & Clark. I recieved first place for best trial notebook and 2nd place for our Mock Trial Intraschool Competition.. I work mostly in family law. I enjoy working with modest means clients and clients who have limited funds. I love representing clients who otherwise might go without representation simply because they cannot afford a lawyer. I have a certificate in public interest law and hope to be a force for postive changes in the law and our community.

Joel E. Fowlks is an attorney in Milwaukie, Oregon, practicing in the fields of family law, estate planning and probate. Joel graduated from Oregon State University and Willamette University College of Law. Before attending law school, he worked as a sportswriter and copy editor in Portland. He also worked as a law clerk in the Trial Division of the Oregon Department of Justice before entering private practice.. Mary has been a dedicated ally for her family law clients for the past decade because she enjoys helping people with issues that affect their daily lives.  She practices exclusively in the area of family law – having handled countless dissolutions, custody cases, restraining order challenges, and grandparent rights cases.. Mary is also a leader in the Portland family law community.  She is currently serving as the President of the Multnomah Bar Association Young Lawyer’s Division.  She has previously served as an Oregon State Bar mentor, volunteered for the Imprint Program and worked as a judge for college mock trial competitions.  Mary also previously served as a member of the Multnomah Bar Foundation CourtCare Committee and the coordinator for the Multnomah County Family Law Group.. Mary graduated from University of Washington in 2004, earned her law degree from Willamette University College of Law and was admitted to the Oregon State Bar in 2007.  Mary began her career on the central Oregon Coast in Newport before relocating to Portland in 2011.  Mary has been mentored by very highly respected family law attorneys in Portland.. In her spare time, Mary is actively involved with the Junior League of Portland and enjoys spending time volunteering at local non-profit organizations.  She also enjoys reading, cooking, and cheering on her University of Washington Husky football team.  Mary is also mom to a young son, who keeps her very busy and grounded in the true purpose behind her work.

Sandy also clerked for the Juvenile Rights Project, where she represented minor children in delinquency proceedings. Sandy participated in the Domestic Violence Clinic during law school, where she represented survivors of domestic violence.. I am an attorney specializing in family law, estate planning, and small business law. I have worked as a criminal defense lawyer since passing the Oregon State Bar in 2011. The majority of my cases are privately retained, however, I have also worked as a court-appointed attorney in Multnomah County. After working as an associate at a private law firm I opened my own practice, where I serve clients in Multnomah, Clackamas and Washington Counties. My criminal defense practice has included defending a huge variety of felony and misdemenor cases, although I have developed a real specialty in DUI defense and have a reputation in town as a tough DUI defense attorney.. I have represented individuals charged with harrassment, assault, forgery, felony possession of a controlled substance, criminal mischief and reckless driving. I have succesfully brought motions to supress evidence that resulted in the dismissal of criminal charges.. My office is in downtown Portland and we handle both civil and criminal matters. On the civil side, my practice consists of divorce, family law and child custody. I have worked as a family law attorney since becoming a lawyer and have extensive experience in all three counties. I've lived in Oregon for 8 years and love being an Oregonian. I moved here in 2008 and received my law degree from Lewis and Clark. Instead of returning to Illinois, my wife and I got married and we decided to stay in Oregon. For fun, we take our dog hiking near hood river or for a run on the beach at the Oregon Coast.
