"KJ" Granville has had a wide variety of living, travel, and employment experience.. Kari came to Arizona on an archery scholarship with Arizona State University. A two-time All-American, she left school to care for a family member, after which she traveled the world as a live stage production manager and lighting technician. She returned to finish her Bachelor of Science in Political Science at ASU in 2000. KJ received her juris doctorate from ASU in May of 2004 with the Dean's Award of Recognition, a Certificate in Law, Science, and Technology: Intellectual Property, and the Highest Pro Bono Distinction.. After successfully obtaining a statutory amendment to expand the Committee to include a statewide indigent defense representative, Ms. Carey became the first APDA appointee by the House Speaker to the Arizona Sex Offender Guidelines Committee. She assisted the National Foundation of Women Legislators as a Host Committee member for the 2005 National Conference held in Phoenix, Arizona. She has been certified (admitted) to practice before the Pascua Yaqui Tribal Court.. She is trained in the administration of Field Sobriety Testing; the administration of Drug Recognition Evaluations (September 2011) and on instruments being used to test for alcohol and drugs by the Crime Labs in Arizona (July 2012). Kathi Sandweiss, a former award-winning television journalist, now enjoys a combined arbitration and appellate practice.
