Mathew E. Holm, Esq. was born and raised in northern Ohio and attended the College of Wooster in central Ohio. While at the College of Wooster Mathew majored in Philosophy, earning high academic honors, served as Captain of the Men’s NCAA nationally ranked swim team and also as a Resident Advisor. As part of the nationally renowned Independent Study program at Wooster Mathew successfully completed a nearly 100 page thesis on Ethical Theory.. After earning a Bachelor of Arts he moved to Los Angeles where he worked in the financial services industry for approximately 5 years including time at Citigroup Inc., and at Merrill Lynch as a Financial Advisor. He also completed the L.A. marathon in 2003.. Mathew attended law school at Chapman University School of Law where he served as President of the Business and Investment Law Society for 2 years and also served as a member of the Tax Law Society. He earned high honors in various business law classes. He graduated in 2009 from law school, moved to Arizona and passed the bar exam.. Mathew is licensed by the Supreme Court of Arizona, is admitted to practice in United States Federal Court and is a member of the Arizona State Bar.. My favorite part of being a lawyer is hands down the connections I’m able to form with my clients. I’ve always been a people person, and I love the personal aspect of advocating on behalf of someone. I’ve been fortunate enough to attend a top law school and work in a variety of law firms and offices, representing everyone from everyday Arizona locals to large, multinational corporations. I’ve represented insurance companies and gained invaluable insight into how they operate and evaluate cases. Though I’m thankful for the experience, I much prefer representing the underdog.. My approach to cases is to, in a sense, work backwards. I work in collaboration with my clients to come up with the ideal result and then figure out the most straightforward route to get there. From there, my job is to execute on that strategy without cutting corners, while always keeping the lines of communication open.. Outside of work, I’m constantly challenging myself with new hobbies. On any given day you can find me golfing with friends, working on my Brazilian jiu-jitsu, cooking, or playing my guitar.
