Location: Georgia, USA Hello, I am here hoping to get a little insight on this situation. I work for my public university’s housing department. My coworkers and I work at this university’s residential front desks. We are all full time students for this university. A couple months ago, the pay for our night shift (12am to 6am) staff was docked by a dollar without notice. No announcement, email, or anything was ever sent out to any of the students. The students had to find out by receiving their paycheck and calculating the missing pay themselves. At the same time, our managers had no problem announcing that our day shift pay had increased by a few cents. It was not until a few days ago a meeting was held without formal notice in an attempt to resolve the situation. After the meeting there was a short written summary that briefly addressed the pay differences under the meeting notice, again without formally notifying any of the students. Are the students entitled to the money lost in those couple months since the pay dock was never announced? Is there any legal action that would be worth pursuing because of these (in)actions? Location: Georgia. In February of 2025 I had a traumatic injury while working as law enforcement. Essentially I fought a suspect who assaulted a family member with a knife and at some point in the scuffle he stomped my ankle. I had multiple equipment failures due to the agency providing tasers they bought from unapproved resellers and the batteries were bought from a different agency. Two used pieces of equipment combined to make a useless paperweight. During this altercation I could not call for help, the cheap radios also failed, likely due to the cheap Amazon batteries they put into the radios. Broken/dislocated ankle and broken tibia. Two surgeries and lots of physical therapy. Still dealing with issues to this day. I was promoted in July of 2025 when I returned to work. I was forced to resign in December of 2025. Essentially I complained too much about equipment not functioning, as well as that the sheriff's office was breaking the law by not paying us 40 hours for going to 40 hours of training. They wanted to pay us 24 hours. This interaction was recorded. They've screwed many people out of hours at work, and force us to come in early everyday for meetings that we are not paid for. I had also called out the jail for breaking policy and not documenting when drugs were found or conducting investigations into it. These failures have inevitably led to deaths from overdoses. I worked at a large retail company in their automotive department and during my time there I was approached by a coworker and we developed a friendly relationship. They consistently pushed me to be romantic with them and when I refused they told my staff I was going to come in and kill everyone. I was interrogated by my director supervisors and it was determined that the accusation was false but they refused to do anything regarding this coworker. I pushed the issue for 8 months before it reached the store manager who’s said he had heard nothing of it and offered audio/video/ and textual evidence but was refused. I was suspended and then eventually fired when I got another job after they contacted my new employer. What do I do I still have all my evidence roughly 3 hours of audio and video and a couple texts. The “investigation” was a sham, I never presented a statement, my coworkers were turned against me as retaliation, I was made to be an other and anytime I see someone from that place I shake and I remember 8 months off hell where no one was there to make what happened right.
