Charlie is the proud father of four Mizzou students: his oldest daughter, Sarah, is a 2018 graduate of Mizzou's School of Law - where she served as president of the Women's Law Association; his oldest son, Chance, is a junior communications major with an emphasis on Sports Broadcasting; his youngest daughter, Katie, graduated in 2021 from the Journalism School with a degree in strategic communications and also a degree in Women's and Gender Studies from the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences. Katie also received her J.D. from the University of Wisconsin School of Law in 2024. Charlie's youngest child, William "Billy", graduated from Mizzou in 2023 with a degree in Psychology and is currently a law student at Mizzouu Law. After spending a year working for the firm,Stolzenberg, Gelles, Flynn & Arango in Miami, FL, Sarah returned to Missouri to be the managing partner at the Sticklen & Sticklen Law Office in Columbia, MO..
