Matthew Toporowski is an experienced litigator and trial attorney. His practice is split between the areas of commercial litigation and plaintiff’s personal injury. He has represented business owners and shareholders in disputes involving breach of contract, breach of fiduciary duties, fraud, theft of trade secrets and non-compete agreements. Maryanne Low-Haviland grew up in Cooperstown, New York. She graduated from Hamilton College in 1988, where she majored in Government and minored in English Literature. She went directly from Hamilton to Albany Law School , graduating in 1991. While Maryanne will always consider Cooperstown in some way to be her “home”, she also found the Capital Region to be a wonderful place to live and, ultimately, decided to remain in the Albany area following law school graduation. Having participated extensively as a successful participant and coach in the Moot Court Program at Albany Law School, Maryanne enjoyed litigation and focused in this area almost immediately upon graduation. She has successfully tried personal injury, discrimination and matrimonial cases over the years on behalf of plaintiffs and defendants.. Matthew C. Weaver, in which he succussefully argued before the NY Court of Appeals that police should not be permitted to place a GPS device on the vehicles of private citizens without a warrant.  This case was reported by numerous news agencies, including the New York Times, ABC News, The Seattle Post-Intelligencer, the Albany Times Union, the Troy Record, WGY, Talk 1300, WNYT and WTEN.  This historic decision was later cited by the United States Supreme Court when they dealt with the issue.. Mr. Hug has represented individuals charged with crimes by the New York State Attorney General's Office and has represented large corporations involved in complex commercial litigation.. Before he opened his own practice, Mr. Hug worked as an Appellate Court Attorney for the New York State Supreme Court, Third Judicial Department.  Prior to working for the Appellate Division, Mr. Hug received his J.D. from Albany Law School, where he graduated summa cum laude (and was in the top 10 of his graduating class).  During his time at Albany Law School, he was one of the first recepients of the Dean Sponsler Fellowship that was awarded  after finishing his first year with the 2nd highest GPA.  He later was awarded the Frank Patterson Prize.  While at Albany Law School, he served as a judicial intern with Hon. Mathew B. Tully is one of Tully Rinckey PLLC’s two founding partners. In 2004, Mat worked with his friend from college, Greg T. Rinckey to establish the foundation of what is today Tully Rinckey PLLC. Mat is one of a small number of lawyers licensed to practice law in three different countries. He is an Attorney and Counselor at Law in New York State and is on the rolls of Solicitors in England and Wales as well as being on the rolls of Solicitors in the Republic of Ireland..
