Marie has an active pro bono practice. She provides direct representation to pro bono clients referred by the Northwest Immigrant Rights Project, and also provides volunteer services through the University of Washington School of Law’s Immigrant Family Advocacy Project. She volunteers at Citizenship Day and DACA workshops throughout the Puget Sound area. Ms. Higuera and her staff also write an immigration law advice column for the weekly Spanish language newspaper, Raza del Noroeste.. Ms. Higuera speaks fluent Spanish. She is a member of the Washington State Bar Association, and is admitted to practice before the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals and the U.S. District Courts of Eastern and Western Washington.
