§ 21.07 Fee for snowmobile trail development and maintenance. 1. A fee\nof one hundred twenty-five dollars is hereby imposed upon the resident,\nand one hundred twenty-five dollars upon the nonresident, owner of a\nsnowmobile for the snowmobile trail development and maintenance fund to\nbe paid to the commissioner of motor vehicles upon the registration\nthereof in addition to the registration fee required by the vehicle and\ntraffic law, the payment of which fee hereby imposed shall be a\ncondition precedent to such individual resident, individual nonresident\nor dealer registration.\n * 2. Notwithstanding the fee as established in subdivision one of this\nsection, an individual resident or nonresident registering a snowmobile\nwho provides proof at the time of registration, that such individual is\na member of an organized New York state snowmobile club that is a member\nof the New York state snowmobile association or is a member of an\norganized New York state snowmobile club that is a trail maintenance\nentity and a member of the New York state snowmobile association, shall\npay fifty-five dollars for each snowmobile for the snowmobile trail\ndevelopment and maintenance fund in addition to the registration\nrequired by the vehicle and traffic law. In the event that an individual\nseeking snowmobile club membership is unable, for any reason, to secure\nsuch club membership, he or she may contact the New York state\nsnowmobile association, who shall secure such membership for such\nperson.\n * NB Effective until December 31, 2028\n * 2. (a) Notwithstanding the fee as established in subdivision one of\nthis section, an individual resident or nonresident registering a\nsnowmobile who provides proof at the time of registration, that such\nindividual is a member of an organized New York state snowmobile club\nthat is a member of the New York state snowmobile association or is a\nmember of an organized New York state snowmobile club that is a trail\nmaintenance entity and a member of the New York state snowmobile\nassociation, shall pay fifty-five dollars for each snowmobile for the\nsnowmobile trail development and maintenance fund in addition to the\nregistration required by the vehicle and traffic law. In the event that\nan individual seeking snowmobile club membership is unable, for any\nreason, to secure such club membership, such person may contact the New\nYork state snowmobile association, who shall secure such membership for\nsuch person.\n (b) Notwithstanding the fee as established in subdivision one of this\nsection and paragraph (a) of this subdivision, a fee of one hundred\ntwenty-five dollars is hereby imposed upon the resident, and one hundred\ntwenty-five dollars upon the nonresident, owner of a snowmobile\nmanufactured more than thirty years prior to the current calendar year\nfor the snowmobile trail development and maintenance fund to be paid to\nthe commissioner of motor vehicles upon the registration thereof in\naddition to the registration fee required by the vehicle and traffic\nlaw, the payment of which fee hereby imposed shall be a condition\nprecedent to such individual resident or individual nonresident\nregistration. Provided, however, an individual resident or nonresident\nregistering a snowmobile manufactured more than thirty years prior to\nthe current calendar year who provides proof, at the time of\nregistration, that such individual is a member of an organized New York\nstate snowmobile club that is a member of the New York state snowmobile\nassociation or is a member of an organized New York state snowmobile\nclub that is a trail maintenance entity and a member of the New York\nstate snowmobile association, shall pay twenty dollars for each such\nsnowmobile for the snowmobile trail development and maintenance fund in\naddition to the registration required by the vehicle and traffic law
