Additional sick leave benefits

Official statutory text

A. Whenever employees of the Department of Corrections are

injured in the line of duty and have used all their sick leave, the

Director of the Department of Corrections shall determine if the

injured employee was actually injured in the line of duty and

whether the injured employee should be granted additional sick leave

because of the injury. The Director may advance the injured

employee not more than an additional forty-five (45) days' sick

leave when necessary. Such sick leave advanced shall be accumulated

back to the Department from the employee at the rate of five (5)

days per year until the advanced number of days are repaid.

B. Such additional sick leave benefit shall be available to an

employee, shall not be cumulative and shall be available for each

separate injury incident.
