Indigency determination - Payments

(a) The commissioner, in consultation with the comptroller of the treasury and with the approval of the commissioner of finance and administration, may establish rules for determining indigence and payments to be made periodically by nonindigent persons supported or their responsible relatives. (b) Periodic payments by the person supported or the responsible relative must be based on ability to pay as determined by factors the commissioner considers relevant. Added by 2024 Tenn. Acts, ch. 688,s 2, eff. 7/1/2024.
