Hunter received his juris doctorate from Charlotte School of Law in May 2015, where he graduated in the top third of his class and with a certificate in Excellence in Criminal Trial Advocacy. In Spring 2015, Hunter was one of two recipients of the Dean's Leadership Award for being a Constitutional Law Teaching Assistant, a Student Prosecutor, and holding multiple leadership positions in various organizations at the same time..
