Samantha Van Scoik is originally from Florida. She graduated from Florida State University in 2001 and Georgia State College of Law in 2004. After law school, Samantha returned to Jacksonville, Florida and began working at Fortune Law Offices.. In 2005, Samantha joined the Office of the Public Defender in Jacksonville, Florida. Samantha began practicing in misdemeanor court, but quickly moved up to felony court and then into the Repeat Offender Division. Samantha’s last assignment was in the Special Defense Division where she defended individuals charged with sexual based offenses.. Samantha moved to the Northern Virginia area at the end of 2008 and passed the Virginia bar exam in 2009. After passing the bar exam, Samantha accepted a position as an assistant public defender in Fairfax, Virginia. In 2013, Samantha left the public defender’s office and formed the Law Office of Samantha Van Scoik. Samantha has tried dozens of trials and handled thousands of cases ranging from traffic offenses to murder.
