Mrs. Shaolian learned to practice the art of negotiation as early as prior to college, working in several law offices doing personal injury, as well as learning how to do Chapter 7 Bankruptcies and dealing with credit card companies. Graduated at the top of her class in University of California, Berkeley, she chose to attend Loyola Law School due to its reputation for excellence as well as its focus on giving back to the community. She is licensed to practice in California, Federal and United States Tax Court. While she intended on pursuing public interest law, she learned while working with a tax firm that she could do more good for the community working with people who had fallen in difficult financial times and helping them get back on their feet.. Her prior tax firm experience allowed her to create resolutions for more than a thousand taxpayers, devoting her time to the representation of individuals, corporations, partnerships, estates and other taxpayers, both domestic and foreign, before the Internal Revenue Service, Franchise Tax Board, State Board of Equalization, California Employment Development Department and other state and local tax agencies.. While she enjoyed creating resolutions that her clients were very happy with, she found it hard to watch as her clients continued to be saddled with other kinds of debt. Since creating her own firm, she now specializes in credit card settlements, credit repair, and bankruptcy as well as all tax matters so she could create a more holistic approach to debt management. With a passion for making a difference, she takes each and every client’s issues seriously and works hard to make sure that each of her clients feel like they are her first priority. Ms. Halavi is a member of the Taxation Section of the American Bar Association and the Los Angeles County Bar Association. Recently, she was the speaker at the San Fernando Valley Chapter for the California Society of Enrolled Agent discussing the issues that arise in Bankruptcy and Taxation.
